- demo Windows H.A.L.T.III by Eldorado
- @NR4
>how does the cable ball effect work?
This comment was made 3 years ago, but I just realized that you were asking a question about it.
Sorry for the late reply.
To answer, it is Pipe Models + Sphere (Position) + TNB Curve.
From what you've said, you might assume that this is implemented using ray marching, but ray marching is not used in this work.
From your perspective at EuroScene, I think that this is probably the same as how you make conventional demo effects.
As an aside, at that time, i also thought about procedual modeling Curlnoise, but I didn't have enough knowledge to do it... lol - isokadded on the 2024-11-25 12:05:36

- Thank you for your comment.
This was a fitting final piece in the series.
@hitchhikr, @Adok
Ah, That is a correct point.lol
But isn't it common for entertainment works to have coined titles where one character is replaced with another? lol
I hope you'll think of it that way.lol
@nytrik
Your past Cocoon works are still great even today. (Shad series, Nazca, etc.)
I am honored to receive a comment from someone who has created such a work.
But "Godfather" is a bit of an exaggeration. lol
>Using own engine and not unity.
In 2021, I created a demo called H.A.L.T.III in Unity, which I did as a learning for work.
Unity allows you to create high-quality works by using a large number of external assets, which can be misleading,
But for that work, almost all of the components were created by hand, except for the font and timeline, and it was created making full use of Polygons, Textures,
Compute Shaders, Vertex Shaders, and Pixel Shaders.
As you may know, just because you use a commercial game engine does not mean it is easy to create a good prod.
In the case of Unity, I remember having a lot of trouble because displaying a large number of particles was too slow without making full use of Shaders.
@Gargaj
Hello.
It's been a while.
By the way, I've been wondering for a while, who is OG?
---
It's in Japanese, but the making of this intro is described in X. (An outline is also written in nfo)

I think a normal way of making things for the people at EuroScene.
This time, I wasn't able to go to the Sessions venue, but compared to the Japanese demoscene I've seen so far, there were a lot of really high-level works, and any one of them could have won.
(The ranking doesn't matter. Even Tya-pa-'s work, which was lowest ranked in this compo, used some pretty interesting techniques.)
The Japanese demoscene was basically nonexistent before 2000, but over the last 10-15 years, there has been more information sharing, and Nowadays, I feel like there are more and more great creators.
It was a really interesting party.
P.S.
As for the video, it will take some time as we need to implement a still to save image sequencing feature in the engine, but I will link it once it's up.:) - isokadded on the 2024-11-25 12:04:19

- A cool ambient style demo.
The style reminds me of "replay" and your previous work "kardiogramm".
The path tracing felt a bit underpowered due to the simple background, but it still looked pretty good. - rulezadded on the 2024-10-10 15:31:57

I felt the style of the year 2000.
Also, In 2023, I was surprised to see the choice of software rendering on this platform.
