- very nice, technically interestig. I'm wondering how you implemented the random number generation on the shader (for generating the ray paths). I think pathtracing is a good way to go in 4k executable gfx. Very very excellent

- + real mblur (shit, you showed it first)
+ one man's (huge) work
+ ASD's vectors zoomer effect, times 10
+ well done transitions! ( ASD (c) )

- AO, mblur, vsm ... technically excellent!! It might be unfinished, but I would like to have seen it winning the compo.
BY THE WAY Smash, funny that the data foder is called "64kideas" :) :) Are you back or what?? - isokadded on the 2008-03-29 13:44:33

- absolutely not my style, but there is lot of work on it. Few more polys would not have hurt (it's 2008) and I had to put the brightness of the screen to the maximun to see anything. As said, lot of coding and modeling work. Coders to Artists ratio = 1/7, amazing!

- very cool to watch. I specially like those ant animations (sometimes it even looks so real!). As said before, ASD's serious attention to detail and experimentation efforts deserve a thumb up, if not more.

- ok, I know where the problem is, but not why it happens. I made a workarround, but as result the exe is bigger (+150 bytes or so) and slower (x2 times) compared to the version I have. It will however be (much) faster than the buggy executions you are experiencing.

But I don't understand, the original code runs in 25 secs in some pcs, and in 10 minutes in others. Wierd. - isokadded on the 2008-03-28 01:11:11

- strange, I tried at work on at least 5 computers, they do it all fine. And never more than 30 seconds to render. I think the image is rendered (you should see CPU usage go to cero after the 25 when it's done), the problem might be the display... (I mix dx and gdi). I dont know what I can do, I dont find any pc where I can replicate it. Auld, texel, mentor, bigcheese, are you vista users perhaps?

- ok, this version
http://www.rgba.org/prods/rgba_eleixane.zip
works ok here. It takes about 25 seconds to render in one core machines (at least in my old athlon, pentiums should do equally well, there is no branching on this algorithm). Rendering time scales down linearly with the amount of cores (tested on an octocore, it renders in 3 secs). - isokadded on the 2008-03-27 10:57:10
