Really neat tune for JS1k.
Crashes the video driver on both laptops at home :\
No surprise since the main loop uses a setInterval('/* render a "heavy" frame */', 16). With webGL you really have to use rAF or a slower setInterval if you have no space.

The screenshots look great, and the code is really interesting.
I learnt many new tricks this JS1k and have a lot to play with.

I'm sad to hear about performance problems :/ My old GTX 9800+ seems to handle this quite well though ^^ As a really quick tweak, i followed p01s advice (requestAnimationFrame), scrapped some sound to come up with

>>>THIS<<<

the inner JS core is 1018 Bytes. I recommend chrome as a browser for much much better sound ;) Please tell me how this version works for you.

Works super smooth here on GTX 460 (sic!).

Minor critique: as obviously it's not easy to do it in 1k, the intro itself doesn't show anything new.
However, it's nice to see demoscene thingy in non-demoscene contest that looks way better than other entries. Plus, it has pleasent sound fx aka music.
Overall: deserves a thumb!

Technically very good, but mandelbulb fractals are so 2011. Then again, at least they're given some meaning via the prod's name :-). Monochromatic colors are also not to my taste. The audio is excellent though, thumbs up for that alone.

@tomkh, @noby : yes, nothing new here, but still we found this a tiny better than the "jellyfishes" versions, which is a bit more distinct to the normal fractals but a bit dull, too

thanks @all for the comments so far, and click >>>here<<< for the jellys (1021 Bytes =)

Very cool for 1k! Nice sounds and atmosphere. :)

Good stuff, music in 1k that isn't random noise is always cool. I like the jellyfish one too.

very nice thing, well chosen colour schemes to match the titles theme, the patterns and shapes themselves also match the theme very well, as does the music, very well thought out and execute 1k.

Works great on Win7, Nvidia Quadro K4000 (work PC) on FF and Chrome. Very nice visuals, music is stupid in FF and fitting in Chrome :)

coral-reef-2-packed.html is the only version that works flawlessly on my machine. The others simply crash the display driver after a few seconds. The version that works is very very IMPRESSIVE! For this you get my thumb. For the others not so much.

It's a bit like 1997 again, when a piece of Javascript was able to crash your computer. ;) Which, of course, is not your fault! I blame the graphics card manufacturers.

Really smooth on Firefox and GTX660, which is something that doesn't usually happen.

Wow. It even ran well on my anicent Windows XP Pro SP3 machine with an ATI Radeon 4870 video card and SeaMonkey v2.40 web browser!

Runs fast all right, but can I run it in native resolution and square pixels somehow? Right now it looks sort of like a lores stretched texture. Didn't find anything in the readme.
