- game Commodore 64 Popeye in Space
- Music indeed is great, but not mine, I just picked some stuff from HVSC from 80's and 90's...

- game Commodore 64 Popeye in Space
- Long time ago, in April 1990, Yugoslav computer magazine "Svet Kompjutera" wanted to print several game reviews of fake games, all with very good scores, for its humor column "Cvet Kompjutera".
But somehow, fake game reviews ended up with regular game reviews, and humor column header was missing.
During that April, local pirate sellers were overwhelmed with requests for those games, but they were nowhere to be found. One of those games was a Commodore 64 game called:
"Popeye In Space".
Now, 35 years later, it is time to finally play it!

- Thank you all for kind words!
@edhellon: my computer was only partly rescued from the trash, the thing I wrote is that most of computers were destroyed, so not much is left generally, either hardware or software.
Last year a TV crew was making a documentary about the company that made the machine (they did a lot of stuff, and they are also doing a lot today), and it turned out that even they did not have a working machine, only a wooden prototype for the case. So they somehow found me, and my machine was used in the movie, just to show how it worked... That is the sad state of keeping our own computer history in Serbia.
My friend Marko and me spent a lot of time figuring out how the machine worked, what is video memory layout, how OS (CP/M) is organized, and so on. Those findings were used by a MAME developer to finish the emulator (first working version is from about a year ago), and also were used to make libraries for TRSE, image and font conversion tools, and so on.
Anyhow, the sources for the game can be found here, if anyone is interested:

- game Wild TimTris v0.9
- This is a first game with sound for TIM-011, school computer from Yugoslavia form 1987. It is considered that there are at most around 10 of these machines left in the world, they were mostly scrapped or thrown away long ago. Almost all the software for it is lost, as almost nothing was preserved. So, it was a time to give it a proper Tetris clone.
Part of this task was contacting Leuat, author of TRSE, to add TIM-011 support, and he gladly did it (many thanks!). Then, there was a huge effort to make graphics and system libraries for the machine (they are now part of TRSE), my friend Marko adapted PTX player code for it, and we found a nice tune to go with the game, "Tetris 2 Red Dawn" by Frantisek Fuka. Many interactions with Leuat followed, as he improved Z80 support in TRSE, and Rascal language itself. So, in the end, TIM-011 got a Tetris clone, and TRSE became better Z80 programming environment.
Game source code will soon be available as a TRSE example. - isokadded on the 2024-03-31 22:45:11

- demo KC-85 Serious! by Moods Plateau [web]
- @dOc.K: sorry for not checking the archive before I asked... I figured I wouldn't download as it wouldn't work on my machine.

- demo KC-85 Serious! by Moods Plateau [web]
- From Wikipedia: "The KC 85/3 ... had 16 KB of RAM, but could be expanded with add-on modules. ... The KC 85/4 had 64 KB of RAM (not counting the luxurious video ram of more than 40 KB) and better graphics capabilities."
So, I guess demo wouldn't work on 85/3. Nonetheless, thumbs up for choosing this platform! As it is a rare one, could somebody upload a video of the demo? - rulezadded on the 2018-04-02 14:30:12

- Would it work on KC 85/3? I ask, as I happen to have one of those... :)
