- Seen both versions. Hmm, sorry. Nude lady theme kinda spoils it, gives an immature impression =)
If we ignore that part it has some nice scenes.. but.. I dunno.. it's missing something. It doesn't make kebbys tune justice! It needs alot more sync. Fx feels a bit sown together and the tune has alot more energy than the demo expresses. - isokadded on the 2003-08-03 00:16:54

- Okay, now a guy just asked me how the hell I made this prod run so much faster than any other current demo released.. and he's running it on his 600Mhz laptop...

- kusma: there's definately is an issue with fmod. low precision timer gives the same result as a speed issue. I have to work on some sort of fmod/qpc timer hybrid or something to get it accurate AND in sync with the music.
This in combination with the code in some sequences my explain the sporadic drops in framerates. I hardly get any fps dips on my Duron 800MHz. Logic dictates the code doesn't run slower on your P4 1800 ;)
At this point it seems like the main issues are timer and cache (after all it is software and alot of data is being moved all over the place). Some other optimizations has to be done as well, of course, but I'm working on that.
I'm open to constructive suggestions in the meantime. Like when and where the fps seems to drop, sporadic or constant, system performance, etc..
Thanks for all your comments! Both negative and positive. - isokadded on the 2003-06-03 14:16:08

I'm strictly using FSOUND_Stream_GetTime() for sync. and that might very well explain the jerkyness on faster systems. - isokadded on the 2003-06-03 11:34:44

- moT: probably that it needs some serious cache-optimizing.

- Party production by the guys.
Turned out quite well if you ask me. Fun to watch but not as fun as meeting the guys themselves, they really lifted the spirit.
You probably had to be at birdie to understand =) - isokadded on the 2003-06-02 22:10:59

- Krayz's artwork and gs's music is simply wonderful.
I know there are speed issues but the demo actually runs fine on my 450MHz at work here as well although a little slow. The jerkyness that is noticeable even on high-end machine is a bit weird and doesn't seem to be caused by slow code.
I'm looking into this however, a final version is planned. - isokadded on the 2003-06-02 13:13:04
