- demo Windows Coronoid by Still [web]
- @jco thank you for the making of. It was really interesting to see the process from your side of view! :)
@tomkh It seems like you really don't know yourself what you don't like about coronoid. The demo doesn't suit your taste - that's totally fine. But it seems like you're trying to convince everyone else not to like it as well... and you're insulting everyone who sees something in it that you don't. (Quote: "easily resonating with infantile-mindset")
And first you criticize "Coronoid" for having pre-computed stuff in it (2 meshes in total - no textures whatsoever) and say demos are only good if almost everything is elegantly solved in realtime and code and then you praise "Lifeforce" as a great example for these standards.
I just downloaded "Lifeforce" once more and found a total of 176 precalculated meshes and textures. Even the shadows of the meshes are baked in. And it uses videosequences as textures.
So where do you draw the line?
You don't seem to know either.
You're sick of the soundeffect and landscape epicness combination from hollywood trailers? Fine. :) I don't have problem with that at all. It's your opinion and I'd also like to hear it. That is what this comment section is for. But why do you try to convince everyone to have the same opinion and to not like demos like this? - isokadded on the 2015-04-02 20:32:49

- Thanks to everyone who commented.
I didn't really expect so many nice comments - so I am really happy about all the positive feedback and super motivated to work on more releases now! Thank you!
@gloom Thank you so much!
@urs thank you! Screenshot was pixturs choice! :P
@bloodnok thank you. Thinking about getting a vr port of this once I get my hands on a set of glasses. Should be fun since there is also a lot of stuff going on all around the camera.
@ultra wow. Thank you so much.
@cynic :D
@noby Thank you. I haven't seen interestellar yet so I don't know. But I think after I asked jco if he could remove the guitar-ending which was originally there he saw interstellar and got inspired and started a new ending.
@hornet. Thank you!
@yogib33r Wow. Thank you. Glad that you like it!
@theT Thank you! <3
@quisten Wow. My pleasure. Thank you!
@kravich Interesting – also because I wasn't even part of still when they made calcifer... making a trilogy out of it could be a nice idea =)
@HellMood thank you so much!
@orange Thank you. I put those birds in because I wanted to have something that shows the scale of the scene... birds are perfect for that... ;)
and btw. they are rigged and animated in tooll!!!!111
@cupe thank you so much! And thanks again for explaining me your hdr workflow. Tooll totally needs this!
@dixan :O :)
@tomaes. Omg thank you.
@gasman Wow thank you!
@puryx Thank you. Btw. Some minor parts should always be different every time you watch this... The longer you wait – the more noticeable the differences... ;)
@zafio thank you!
@navis yes you have a point there. Unfortunately the tooll in it's current state limits you to single triangles. I'd love to have more control over the width and chunkiness of the exploding parts... :)
@amiga4ever Wow. Thanks!
@a-move thank you. I feel honored.
@alkame The demo will be part of the next tooll releases. You can take any screenshot in any resolution then. If you need it urgently tell me the times and I'll render some out for you.
@kylearan thank you. Well the idea was to start simple in every aspect... but I understand if you don't like the colors at the beginning.
@preacher Feels like all the work I put into coronoid pays off when I read how you felt when you watched it. Thank you so much.
@sq almost... but his interfaces look much better... (I mean pixturs interfaces of course...)
@temix oh thank you! :D
@navis Thank you! And yes all of this was done in "Tooll2" – http://tooll.io And can't wait to see your new release!
@smash thank you for your feedback. I admire pretty much every release you worked on. And I think I share your view on the technical vs tool vs artist question.
@chock interesting comment... thank you.
@yoshi_noir hm. Check your drivers. This runs smooth on my geforce 450.
@gargaj thank you so much!
@tomkh Erm... yeah... of course these meshes were done in 3dsmax – so was the unicorn and the dolphins in eternal dream of beauty... I always use the right tool for the right job. Always.
I see no point in reinventing the wheel. And I also don't have the skill or the time to write my own tool, 3dmodeling application, api, driver, OS or to design and solder my own processor and gpu. Where do you draw the line? - isokadded on the 2015-03-29 22:02:53
