Disney buys Star Wars company
category: offtopic [glöplog]
Maybe we see some more than the usual episode 1-6 warmup release every few years now at least.
No idea if it will suck or not but thats more up to the writers/director/actors/fx guys than the deal itself, aint it?
and indiana jones (1-3) rules all the way.
Did they buy LucasArts (the game studio) along with it? Maybe they just wanted to finally get their hands on the monkey island IP for their theme park ;)
Anyway, if they really bought Lucasarts with it things could get a little more interesting over there...

Yes
Given that Disney movies kick ass and Star Wars also kicks ass, what's the problem? More asskickery! And space explosions! And CGI animated comic relief characters! (note: I'm not actually kidding, I love this shit)
industrial antisemitism & magic
I want a JarJar Binks/Ewoks crossover movie.
That'll make the franchise.
That'll make the franchise.
OH NO! THEY WILL RUIN GUYBRUSH!!!!
ringo: if they do it, it'll probably be a world first: a hollywood version of the porno.
The cycle of life:
Lucasfilm creates ILM to develop special effects, Pixar splits from ILM to create 100% CG films, Pixar makes Disney's traditional animation obsolete, Disney buys Pixar, Disney buys Lucasfilm. This can only mean Star Wars toys on the next Toy Story.
At least Disney gave us a Daft Punk album worth listening to.
Also worth noting: Indy is 70 years old, I'm not expecting much of a comeback from him unless Manoel de Oliveira directs it.

xernobyl vindicates my point about Tron Legacy.
& I don't want Shia Lebouf being the next Indy. Even against the TV series Indiana Jones he sux.

But the guy is going to do a movie with real sex now. I doubt Disney wants to use him after that...
we were all dreaming of more star wars episodes, so wtf.
even if it's not LucasArts, someone's doing it, that's better than nothing.

I'm not sure what you downloaded from the internet thinking it was the Tron Legacy soundtrack, but you've been had.
Also, anybody who thinks this is a good turn for the whole Star Wars franchise needs to get his head examined for bite marks. Good exit troll, George!
EVERYONE can probably make a better Star Wars than George Lucas. The less he has to do with Star Wars, the better the movies. Empire strikes back for example.

You. Did. NOT. Just. Say. That!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo...
Ringo: Haha, you don't think ESB is the best one?
Tbh I didn't know that Lucas wasn't that involved in Empire - otherwise yes Empire is by far the best of the 3.
No fucking Ewoks.
No fucking Ewoks.
I actually have read this book, which gives a very interesting insight in the true making of the Star Wars scripts. It's very detailed and long, though. xD

Anyone else getting a big red "don't go here" page for this thread?
ringofyre: yeah.
