I've just received POSTAL mail to my private home address from ep.
He is asking me to delete his FOUR scene.org/pouet.net troll accounts and his demozoo account according to GDPR rules.
No return address where I could tell him "thank you for believing I am the almighty god of the scene, I appreciate that".
ep, if you are reading this: I am not running any of those services. Learn to fucking read imprints of website.
(I do respect GDPR requests and love the GDPR.)
jsyk.

Oh so it's your turn now.
I hope that he won't request from me that I remove his articles from the Hugi issues in which they were published.
Sorry, but you gave permission to publish them and already released Hugi issues won't be modified. Besides, the GDPR was not part of Austrian law in the years Hugi issued.

I'm going to ask you one last time to stop trying to forcefully insert your self-important ass into conversations that are not about you.
haha, goddamn, the ghost that keeps coming back! that letter should be archived by got papers? imo.
Gargaj: So you got that, too? To The International Scene Organization ry or also somehow to you personally?
okkie: well, be my guest, see the PDF linked above. it's properly anonymized to not contain personal information according to the definitions in GDPR.
Also, ep, if you are reading this:
https://id.scene.org/profile/
You can delete all your personal information yourself. That's your duty according to the GDPR. If you can delete data you have created yourself, you simply have to delete it yourself again. GDPR requests are for data companies are storing about you that you can NOT delete.
(And I am not in charge. I do not run scene.org or anything related.)

Did we not already have this discussion before some years ago? As in won't be removed because the servers are in the Netherlands and Pouet follows the laws in that country according to the exemptions and expressions of the that law there?
that was a good read, once more confirming he's a total fruitcake :D
Adok: I would assume you to already have researched this yourself. But your distribution of old Hugi issues falls under "The journalistic exemption" of GDPR, Art. 85 DSGVO in Germany, and "something like that" in Austria (where you are from, I think?). Press archives are protected.
In case you didn't know this, now you know. Would he (or someone else) ever ask you to take out old articles out of Hugi, the answer should be "it's a press archive according to GDPR, go fuck yourself" (for other people than ep potentially without the "go fuck yourself" part).
But yeah, as Gargaj "hinted": This is hypothetical and more of a generic subject on how Diskmags should handle GDPR. This is who about ep has already annoyed with this "How about if I would just stop trolling and go away? No, let's now troll about my trolling!" shit.

Also, I love the fact that in his letter he claims that the required info to identify him in stored records includes "GOD".
MuffinHop: scene.org's legal position of course is none of my business.
But in theory an "artist name" / handle *can* be identifying information according to GDPR. But "ep" and "GOD" etc. are clearly below this bar, so you don't even have to deal with forum posts.

Just to clarify (and I hope I'm right there), even if "the GDPR was not law yet", the data collected then is now affected by GDPR nonetheless. Anything available on the web is basically the same as offering fresh copies (because a copy is made when someone accesses it), thus the GDPR definitely applies.
But that's just theory, as mentioned by Scamp there are exceptions to the GDPR. And "remove my article" would rather be a copyright law issue, I doubt that any license (potentially implicitly) granted by the original author to publish the article can just be revoked.
