------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dresden in March 2003 4palmz - PALM OS5 edition - 320x320 fixed - more movement - and sampled sound ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---> DISCLAIMER <--- ---> DISCLAIMER <--- + ---> DISCLAIMER <--- ---> DISCLAIMER <--- -- -- -- NO responsibilities for any damaged/lost data, broken devices ... or whatever. -- -- Don't bother. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements: ARM powered Palm-OS device (Palm-OS5 at least) (with PACE Motorola 68k software emulation) Tested on: - Palm Tungsten-T - Sony NX (thanks Aaron for testing!) Notes and bla bla bla: Originally this has been a 4k-tro from the Mobilewizardry 2002 demo competition, where it ranked first in the 4k-category as well as in the overall ranking. Now it's fixed for Palm-OS5, specifically for the 320x320 resolution. (it's statically fixed for 320x320x8bpp, with direct screenaccess, no offscreenwindow - therefore it may won't work on future devices...just like the first 160x160 version for the demo compe- titon... ;) It doesn't work on the Palm-Simulator. It may work on the future version of the Palm emulator with ARM emulation. On the Sony NX you should get a 'SoundStreamFeature not present', just choose <no sound> then. Concerning any 'Fatal' error messages: if you are sure your device is capable of the requirements, just hit <continue> - but please keep the DISCLAIMER in mind ! :) The main effects are still Motorola 68K code, only the Sound-Callback routine, the additional scroller and the zoomrot-blitting are done using native ARM code. Therefore the performance is quite low, the framerate is around 33 frames per second. I'm sure there will be much much better demos/intros or games for ARM powered Palms in the future. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Credits~ code design and font Defjam/Checkpoint sampled AN COOL from The Carebears sound .. soooorry, but it's ripped from the fabulous'n'famous 'WOW-Scroller' screen by TCB from the UNION demo from 1989 on the ATARI ST checkpoint logo for the bumpmapper Moondog/tSCc --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Greetings~ to the ATARI scene, especially DHS, Escape, tSCc and AN COOL + TCB for that fucking cool sample, altough it's over 10 years old now... Aaron Ardiri, cYBORG/iNDUSTRY aka Nemanja Bondzulic, Daniel Morais and to anyone who want's to be greeted. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Contact~ www http://checkpoint.atari.org e-mail [email protected] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just want to mention some extremely funny gameplay... Use the standard Hardkeys to control movement ( calendar: select item-increment (z_rot/zoom/move_w0/move_w1) address : clear actual item-increment tasks : increment item-increment notes : decrement item-increment ) After some seconds the original settings will be restored. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
