very nice
Many blocky 3D, the last thinking man was wow, even if blocky and can be enjoyed in tiny screen youtube on my phone :)
Great stuff!
awesome code and gfx, too bad it runs only on 1 Mb tho
wow, amazing stuff!
Nice visuals but the music is the most mediocre.
lovely
massive
Deserved XL/XE winner.
Best tech-demo ever released for Atari XL/XE! Thanks guys! :) I love every bit of it - code, visuals and music <3
looks amazing, a lot of awesome 3D stuff .. I have no clue about 8bit atari so I'm curious about how much of this is (pre-)calculated but realtime rendered - and how much is just animation? I mean - phong shading, even if faked, on a 8bit machine seems unbelievable to me ..
Yep! This is simply amazing!
Really great demo with top effects, super soundtrack and especially, a good pace (never boring, always action). Cool, thumbs up!
@Solo_NG so, in this case - well deserved thumb up, unbelievable code!
Some cool 3D in this one, good job!
Does the demo require two Pokeys or does it run with only one but in mono? Would love to watch it on real HW, but haven't got a double Pokey expansion yet

And I forgot my thumb
Nice demo. With all the respect, 1MB RAM requirement for 8bit machine sounds "a bit" too much. Memory limitation, at least for me, is one of the constraints of programming for 8bit machines (like CPU speed, graphical or auditory capabilities).
It's up to you as authors and up to compo rules which hardware is allowed. Then it's up to viewers to decide how it fits their taste, and everyone has different taste, expectations and preferred approach. My is that textures and backgrounds can be procedurally generated, the same with unrolled code for effects or tables for performing 3D. I won't even dare to make faster 3D than what Swiety did, that's excellent code.
I adore the 3D in this demo. Everything is authentic to the imagination of the hardware creators.
Brilliant! <3
I like especially the first part with seaweed. I hope to see more when you rest a bit (also including some story like before with Tiger gfx). Respect.
I enjoyed the clown fish. I don't know the platform super well, but I'm still impressed but what you achieved.
I like first part and some transitions (fade in part of screen with unrolled code in gfx 9). Impressive, very good effects.
Brilliant!
Well done!
No !!!!! ... I can't believe it... on a bare ATARI 800 XE ?!!! Almost incredible !! Magic !!!! More than amazing optimisation !!! Brilliant !!!!!
Awesome work !!!!
Awesome work !!!!
Great
OK.
Nice to see new stuff on old hardware. But i have to admit i'm more impressed by c64 demos. Those look more incredible and the demos run on plain hardware (64Kb!) This demo requires 1Mb, to me that sounds like cheating.
I expected more from my atari 800 Xl after i upgraded it with SDrive Max and 256Kb.
Can somebody tell me why c64 is so much ahead of atari?
Is it because the c64 can read from diskdrive in parrallel and Atari can't?

davince i think its opposite, atari is far ahead. here you see realtime hardcore effects, on new c64 demos all you see is decompressed animations imitating effects.
i dont know about disk drives but i read somewhere on forums atari 8 bit can read data during demo like c64 can ("in background") so they load all demo/disks to ram before it runs.

Awesome demo, kudos to people involved!
Great job, very nice demo for this atari platform. THX
Nadrobione! Dla mnie MEGA SZTOS! Kolana połamane!
Real time 3D on 6502 even with 1MB it is still an 6502. I am flatted.
Outstanding!
Great stuff guys! Me 👍🏻
Finally had the time to check out the demo on real hardware during the xmas holidays, it is indeed a fine 3D show!
Well deserved 1st place. The lo-res worked great on the big screen. The 3D in this is just awesome and the usage of the post-processing & transitions and the usage of the graphics 10 (9 color) resolutions makes it stand out for similar demos. I how no idea how the spikeball can be so fast with so many faces, too. Also showing the statue in mode E before the rotation part is a very clever thing to trick the mind.
Nice one!
Very nice!
nice
Impressive demo! Really like the effects, the graphics and how the music sounds on this thing! Such a good show!
I liked the exploding cubes the most (also the music in this part). otherwise a tech demo.
Great effects over here!
Some pretty extreme 3d scenes in here!
