pretty neat! I'm very curious about how the toolchain works.

Thanks!

There are three tools at work, I just write a few words to each of them, since I'm not sure to which you are referring exactly. There is a little build system to bring all the tools together, but that is essentially a better/cleaner Makefile/Script, though convenient.
Second, we tried synthesizing Clinkster compatible Renoise songs with a shader (still buggy at the moment, but hopefully compressor friendly).
And third, we thought it would be nice to have a tool as nice as Crinkler, which is a drop-in replacement for ld with all the benefits of having full control of the linking step and compression. We are not yet there, since decompressor and runtime loader are far from the size they should and could be (no x86 experts (yet)), but the cornerstone has been set.

If we feel like our tools are becoming more competitive, we will certainly release them.

Even the final version has its quirks (janky video mode switching without restore at end, and very low framerate), but seriously: This is a first prod, with the whole tech stack written from scratch, including the synth and linker/loader/packer, and it's not just a dumb effects show, but has a narrative and proper design. (Those titles! <3) You guys rock, and I'd love to see more!

Just added a version build with the newest version
of cold, our compressing linker.
This should work on most current distros now, with debian being a notable exception (Oh, don't ask why).
