"Invalid bytecode" or "Applet crashed" Java errors
Java

invalid, bytecode, applet, java
If you get errors like "Invalid bytecode" or "Applet crashed" when trying to view
a Java applet, this means that the Java Runtime Environment is having problems
interpreting the compiled Java source code of a Java applet. This is often caused
by bad coding, or that the compilation of the Java applet (translating it from
source code to Java code) went wrong. A probable cause for this is that the
Java applet is compiled for the wrong Java version or that it isn't written according
to the official Java specification by Sun Microsystems.
Microsoft's implementation of Java is known to cause such problems, since it differs
from Sun Microsystems' Java specification.
As a user, there is little you can do if the Java applet is compiled for Microsoft's
version of Java, apart from contacting to the Web master of the site in question about
the problem.
read it for yourself

music is great as usual and then there's the cloven head that has a radiating blob within.
I sometimes have headaches during which I feel like I have one of those in my head too :)

My favourite Java demo, and one of my favourite demos in general.
Great stuff!
Great stuff!
really beautiful, and perfectly coded!
*sigh* why do all java demos have to run in such small windows...?

Another high qual Komplex release, besides the late DN demos the best you can get for the Java platform. Like with 'Forward' you should use Jview instead of starting it inside the browser (when IE 5.5 or later and M$ Java is installed) to have better sound quality.
beauty
Thumb up for the Java gods
like best javademo out there!
oh well... of course there aren't too many java demos, but still..

!!
does not work in IE 6
Wow, very impressive Java release - shame it only shows in a tiny 512x256 window though :-S
Somehow this one didn't work for me. Ok, pics may be of good quality but there's still something missing.
"Watering the dry brains" ;)
Great!
Great!
nice one !
Top Demo...
Music screwed up on my machine.
Great prod done in Java.
sweet ass shit.
wooooooooooooooow
Yes
nice little applet
Offering a view of human ascension to deity, a deity they have themselves created from their own image in order to explain what they do not understand, with the help of science and technology. This is what godog is about and the message is carried in both visual symbols and "scene poetry" that is above the average but does reveal that english is not the authors' native language. (My writing certainly does too)
Godog is also high in style. Colours are selected with care and translucent imagery flashes by in multiple layers refining the experience as has been common in later Komplex demos. There are some great effects, the whole introductory part with the komplex logo and the figures reminiscent of crop circles brilliant in their simplicity. The structure that looks like three spines welded together emitting shining blue. And of course one can't forget to mention the fantastic track by Erik Lyden that so well goes along with the theme and is definitely worth listening on it's own.
Even the parts that are more typical in nature have a distinct flavor. My favourite metaballs is a race between this and Hyperventilation and nice & interesting colours and symbols give the pure object parts what they need.
It's not just a great Java demo. It's a great demo, period. And as an added bonus we can enjoy it on any platform with a JVM handy, for years to come.

8 years onward, still probably the best java demo around
Pretty good!
oops I thought I already thumbed this one up
good one
The music doesn't get played well here. For the rest...
best java demo!
Ruled
Very good for java!
This is one of the best java demos I've seen... Great soundtrack too.
Very cool visuals, however my thumb up is mostly for the awesome soundtrack :)
Yuck.
What a courageous choice platform for 1998!
Excellent prod, by the way...
Excellent prod, by the way...
Glitches like a bastard now unfortunately. The music jumps and jitters and the visuals seem to lose synch (most scenes repeated slightly before moving on).
But I watched it plenty back in 98, so I know it rules :)

nice
Running this today is a bit of a hassle (install the old MS JVM and use jview instead of the browser; Oracles JVM won't do), but it still looks good. :)
Old but great
Any chance of a capture of these komplex java demos? I really don't feel like having any JVMs installed...
video please?
best java demo ever
still waiting for video
Nice to see there's a video capture of this. So cool, quite modern for 1998. The visuals were even more impressive running at a low frame rate back then.
Capture!
Perfect zeitgeist.
Perfect zeitgeist.
Getting ClassFormatError (link to screenshot) on recent JVM (version 8 update 261), but the music alone is just amazing.
