I absolutely love this demo. On the other hand, you can tell that it's made by someone that's not very experienced in making demos or graphics: there's a mismatch of styles, it's very plain and doesn't contain anything that could be considered modern 3D graphics by any means. It looks like 2002 instead of 2020. On the other hand the stuff that is there simply looks good, sticks to the point and the overarching theme is a lot more interesting than 95% of the stuff there. It's naive, simplistic and beautiful in all its bareness.

There's a phrase in the Finnish rock scene: "ekat demot oli parhaita" - the first demo recordings were the best. It can be used ironically honestly in "I used to listen to this band before it was cool" when referring to the band, or sarcastically when referring to die-hard fans. This demo reminds me of that, but in a very sincere way. This is the first great demo and in many ways it will be hard to surpass.

So Preacher said nice things about this so my expectations might have been higher than usual, but I'm very much on the fence about this - it's a first prod, so there's a lot of slack I'm allowing, plus it does have "a theme", but at the same time it's just veeery rough around the edges (glitchy raymarching, somewhat hectic direction, gimbal spin camera), and it doesn't seem to have a beginning-middle-end that the theme would require - it clearly wants to talk about time, but it doesn't really seem to know what to say, so it mostly just falls back to "wouldn't this effect be cool if I'd add another on top", and it most cases it's not. Even the music is kinda stuck around the same arpeggio.

There's potential here, no doubt, a lot of good ideas, but as it stands the problems are way too prevalent. Now's the time to put the actual work into craftsmanship :)

What Preacher said. Showing definite promise here, looking forward to seeing future development.

iirc this is the second demo by Peetu (first being Gambler from Asm'19). Direction-wise there can be seen progress. I like the audio and the overall story more than the previous demo even though the roughness of edges is still there in the second demo.

Crashes after the first clock (?) zooms in, GeForce RTX 2060 card, Win10.
The part that worked was nothing special at all.
Keep up the progress and keep them coming!
