Nice effects coded in only Java
rulez added on the 2020-04-13 16:20:59 by Queen_Luna
rulez and thx for the source
Butt ugly, sorry.
If this is coded with software rendering (from what I understand from the nfo) it's pretty damn impressive especially for Java. Usually you have software demos in lowres that show 100 vector balls or something and sometimes still slow, but this is quite more massive, has enormous amount of bobs colliding and exploding, while other filters and stuff render in highres, and that scroller is still smooth at the end while everything blows up. Regardless, it was a nice change from the game engine demos on the compo, one of my favorites in the PC demo compo.
That bob-colliding/carving effect rules. Are those zoomblur squares exactly the same color as in either Vertigo or High Anxiety on Amiga? ;)
VERY SWEET
Really nice "particle" show, stream didn't appreciate it, but i do
This was really weird. On the other hand, there's a wealth of nice ideas and all that. On the other hand, a lot of it looks terrible (the colors, composition etc). With a proper design, this could really go places.
It's genius how parts of spinning models were sawed off in screen space.
Moon, yea. that's what i was too lazy to type out the other day.
colour tables seemed very familiär.
as in you move to a possibly different landscape & somehow feel totally cozy and at home :)

Cool, thx for source code!
:)
Master piece, total fucking nice!
it clearly demonstrates workmanship and a degree ambition, but ultimately I mostly found it rather ugly and unengaging
Graphics are so-so (some nice parts and some rather ugly ones), but are still mysteriously mesmerizing thanks to the soundtrack.
ok
I can see why some people don't like this. It's different from other PC demos. It's as if the demo scene had stood still and only the hardware had evolved. And I love it!
