you'd better have 3d glasses when watching this one or you miss most of the fun :)

designed for red-cyan glasses, works ok with red-blue glasses too.

it doesn't "require" 3d glasses. you can recognize everything without (i need to know, because i don't have stereo vision, and i coded the thing :)

This one ruled on the big screen, nothing more to say.

would've been pretty good without the 3d element even if the music didn't do a whole lot for me (sound quality was pretty good though) .. as usual fr managed to fit a lot of stuff into a tiny amount of bytes.. with the 3d it's even better.. it's pretty well implemented, but the stereoscopic image phasing seems to be a little too extreme here and there which lessens the quality of the effect.. or maybe my eyes are just f*cked.. :)

baby, Put Your 3D Glasses On hehe, I can't wait to buy a pair, This simply ROX without them.

Nice one. I first saw this idea on an Extrabreit cover .. Hurra Hurra die schule brennt.. Found my glasses there ;) Looks fine. But my relevator looks better ;))

Tumbs up for the idéa alone, i watched the demo without stereoscopic glasses simpy because i couldnt find mine but if it does what it says then it gets my thumb for that aswell. Its not like i havnt seen stereoscopic 3d before.
rulez added on the 2002-12-30 10:22:28 by a_lee_n a_lee_n
dyscotopia: you can adjust the "deepness" of the stereoscopic affect by sitting further away or closer to the monitor. Also, the total size of the picture plays a role. it works cool on a monitor, but on the big screen, it looked much better (to our pleasant surprise)
added on the 2002-12-30 12:21:56 by wayfinder wayfinder
a bit boring, but i can't wait to get some 3d-glasses. hm.. i wonder what would happen if i put some plastic-glasses outside my revelators? :)

anyway, not commenting on this until I get some of them 3d-glasses to make me look like a dork.

Now the fr guys know too how cool it is to make fools of a few hundred ppl with those glasses :) ( http://flag2001.demoscene.hu/photos/hp/01.jpg :))
Anyway, cool intro :)

definitely cool. we were lying under the big screen while it was played. shocking experience.

I've been considering doing some stereoscopic stuff ever since I got a pair of red/green glasses with the book "Virtual Reality Systems". But since I assumed most sceners don't have a pair handy, I never got around to actually doing it.
Thumbs up for this nice idea. The 3D effect is not so good with red-green glasses though, maybe red-green/red-cyan/red-blue could be added as options in the final version?
rulez added on the 2002-12-30 20:25:42 by Sdw Sdw
Hm. was good without stereoglasses... must dig up them from the shelf...

Oh. And it has one of the better fr-introzax!

I guess it's really cool wh the glasses but I don't have any at hand. The visual part is ok without them anyway but the music sucks... Do we need an earplug for it to sound better? ;-) No thumb up this time, because of that music...

boyc: neither of us was the first to have the idea though... third dimension by cryptoburners (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=3429) was "a few" :) years earlier..

Yep, really nice intro!! Although the red/blue glasses idea isn't new at all of course for demos/intros...
But it worked (again) very nicely indeed... ;-)

Anyways a request for a forthcoming *final* version pleease:
Add a small select-menu at the start where the user can choose between 3D-version (with glasses) or 'non-3D' for being able to watch it anyways although if you have no red/blue glasses available! ...or lost them...etc... ;-)

Would that be an option...? ;-) Hope so...

Just curious why you chose red/cyan and not red/blue? I'm thinking of trying some 3D home video with 2 cameras, and I was wondering if you had better results with cyan....better to know these things before ordering 100 pairs of glasses. :-)

BTW you can get a free pair here. May be only USA though.

Thumbs up for the idea alone. Too bad I don't have 3d glasses at home so I missed most of the fun... Have to dig through some old Donald Duck magazines and see if I get lucky. :)
rulez added on the 2002-12-31 12:31:21 by melw melw
The idea is very old. Didn`t Phenomena make a "3d glass" demo. And the first 3d glass movie is way old :)

Anyway, some scenes are nice, some not so nice. I dont like the music so much, but some of the samples was quite cool.
added on the 2002-12-31 12:54:23 by Wain Wain
Hmm,. where can I find such glasses? I think I will have to ask my friends. I have never seen a demo with 3d glasses. I think there were one or two (I only remember a 3d star scroller,. but I am wondering if it's possible to see it with little pixels ;P) but this one seems to be the first good intro for 3d glasses. I definitelly have to watch that. Liked the music too!

Oh,. hoho,,.. just remembered sometihng funny. Do you know the sterograms? Some wicked patterns, where if you look carefully inside and fuck up your eyes, you will see 3d objects from behind. I remember to have encountered a demo on Spectrum where you had to look inside stil wicked 1bpp patterns on your screen to see 3d! Where can I find that? I forgot it's name..

just found another "free 3d-glasses" site. worth a try, but you have to fake a bit to get them. :) http://www.spacekids.com/freestuff/index.html
added on the 2002-12-31 16:28:57 by gloom gloom
Luxo, we chose red/cyan because it is possible to have at least somewhat different colors with them. With red/green glasses, no color information remains.

Wain, there are no samples in the music, it's all synthesized. :)
added on the 2003-01-01 16:23:50 by wayfinder wayfinder
gloom: I do that too! except I don't watch *demos* in the nude. well, you could consider them wild demos, I suppose... or some form of 'body crashing compo'.

sagacity: ..but unlike that shitty tp-stuff, these kinds of events doesn't usually take place on a stage.. nor do they involve more than two people.. unless you're really lucky, that is. :)

btw; those "spacekids"-people ran out of 3d-glasses it seems. damn.

Well, found my 3d-glasses and the intro was ok. However, some objects that was supposed to be in front of the screen went off screen in one or more directions, that kinda kills the illusion.

its all just good about this intro.

its nicely relaxing, weird colors as with the glasses should be and moody muzik + lots crammed into $ffff bytes.

its great on the bigscreen and works nicely with my 14-incher .) so what else than thumb...

TRULY AWESOME! I demand 3D enhanced versions of all farb-rausch demos. Or at least poem to a horse! Please?

I dont have or have access to 3d glasses. So the full effect of the demo is wasted here. But it is stylish as always from the fr boys'n'girls, the music is fair, and the idea is good fun. Rather psychedelic me thinks

according to fr this is heavilly under average. including the style, some abstract (crappy) shapes etc.

Don't have glasses, so piggy for now. I shall fashion something with left-over christmas sweet wrappers later ;)

BUT: ever thought of releasing a demo just as a normal stereogram? (i.e. two images side by side)
No glasses required, all colour information remaining... It might suck on the bigscreen close up, as you wouldn't be able to cross your eyes far enough, but...
It's probably a bit late to ask for a final with this feature now though :3
