Nice stuff. The tune and synth sounds are great. Maybe the big bass synth could be less bright to go better with the other 70s-ish sounds.
I uploaded the MKV video to a megacorporation's video service.

Cool to see some polygons again but honestly it's visually not quite up to par. Thumbs up for naming it after an mtg card.

No rays harmed in the release. Refreshing

Very nice! I hear you used the LOD trick we talked about last month (it was great to meet you), which I guess allowed you to extend the landscape in to the far distance there. I think the up-close parts of the terrain could still have used more detail, but overall it turned out really well. I really like the fading to grey, which feel like crossfades! The gradual snowfall and the tree lighting are also really great.

Does not live up to the coolness of the original Ice Age art, but a nice reprint nevertheless.

Code: $ ./adarkar_wastes_linux-amd64 glewInit(): Missing GL version

Using GL >4.3? (nouveau on linux 4.15.2-gnu-1-hardened, mesa 17.3.4, glew 2.1.0)

Nice Stuff. Also FreeBSD version was a surprise for me!

It uses GL 4.5. Not because advanced features would be needed, but because glNamedFramebufferTexture and glGenerateTextureMipmap save a few bytes as compared to binding first. This, in turn is not all that necessary since the compo version ended up being only 3995 bytes. You should be able to change it to GL 3.x quite easily and recompile yourself but eh? Can also watch the video.

Also, fizzer, it was great to meet you too. The trick you proposed was indeed used although the detail between the 2 lod passes is only triplicate, should have been more.

Done those modifications, but now it segfaults at glCreateFramebuffers for no apparent reason.

Sad, because I quite like it.

super cool!

Well, I made the modification, so the release version no longer needs 4.5. Also I was wrong about 3.x, uniform location still needs GLSL 430, so can't go lower than that. Modifications are in github.

If that doesn't work, I don't know what to do. You absolutely sure your GL driver is at least 4.3?

Good job. Big props for open source attitude!

this is one of those prods where i simply have to keep in mind that it is a 4k and not a demo. not a fan of that falling snow which pops out a bit too much for my taste but otherwise a enjoyable prod.

Still segfaulting at the same location :/ (I guess I'll blame GLEW GLX/EGL differences.)

glxinfo says 4.3 is supported, and I've written some stuff that uses 4.3 myself as well.

Code: OpenGL vendor string: nouveau OpenGL renderer string: NVD9 OpenGL core profile version string: 4.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 17.3.4 OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 4.30

Bit tricky. Visuals are from a bygone age :P and very slow, for 4K it's OK. The music composition is not so exciting. Instruments are sort of classic to an extreme. But the software synth demonstrates its filter at the end, and this is the reason I need for thumbing this up :)
