I think the demo's ok, it's a bit short and lacks effects, but it's nice to watch.

Aah.. What the heck :)

rulez!
rulez added on the 2002-07-20 19:04:52 by ravity ravity
Not bad.. Kicking music and nice objects, the quick cuts and flashes were a bit tiresome towards the end.
added on the 2002-07-20 19:28:00 by break break
Nice demo.
Cool sync, and some lighting effect was cool.
However, I did not like an end scene.

nice to watch ..
effects are fucking sweet
just need some more graphics and some more time :)

fading music is a crime btw :)

Rulez, everything but the end, "funny" perhaps, but... 8P
rulez added on the 2002-07-20 21:18:07 by Zafio Zafio
well, the end scene ruins the whole thing, else it's overall good.
you guys obviously got bored with finishing tpb-02 and decided to hack up an another one instead.. 8] these two need to be finished, before the "synch nonsense scenes to pumping techno"-demotrend wears old.. 8))

nice visuals and music definitely rocks.
rulez added on the 2002-07-24 18:20:24 by teel teel
sanx: testing a demo when you're minutes away from the deadline is not an option. And lastly, do you mind if a final of tpb-02 is more likely as of yet? =)

added on the 2002-07-24 18:30:25 by Shifter Shifter
haha i think we broke the deadline by 10 hours?

damn shifter, they delayed the democompo for us, who are you kidding here ;)))
ah yes, I happen to think the deadline is when we're due to be played, sorry ;)
added on the 2002-07-24 18:45:06 by Shifter Shifter
lets see, deadline was 13:00, we were finished 1:30, so we broke it by 12.5 hrs i guess

maybe we should have started on this demo sometime BEFORE friday ;)
added on the 2002-07-24 18:54:20 by superplek superplek
try starting earlier next time. may give you time to even attempt coherency!

256 samples per pixel should be enough for everybody.
added on the 2002-07-25 20:42:48 by Inopia Inopia
1 sample pr pixel is enought for any software-coder ;)
added on the 2002-07-25 21:09:08 by kusma kusma
coherency schmoherency

go make boring demos sag ;)
ravity: sorry for not wobbling any spheres, twisted cylinders or planes featuring griddistortion :)

added on the 2002-07-25 21:30:49 by superplek superplek
kuzma: softwarerendering is outdated (atleast aslong as you don't do anything that can't be done in hardware)
but then, so are c64s and amigas and...

kusma showed he can make a rather good software-rendered demo so stfu
ROXX !
ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEZ !
rulez added on the 2002-07-25 21:48:26 by Stv Stv
ile: I'll do that :)

by the way... 256 samples/pixel... just rendering one layer on top of the other to a texture, then using THAT texture to render on top of itself, etc, doing that 8 times, and ending up with 2^8=256 samples. right? :)
added on the 2002-07-25 22:23:43 by sagacity sagacity
you make it sound easy :)
well, I'm sure it's much more complicated and elite than that!

I mean, it IS studly dutch code, after all.
added on the 2002-07-25 22:58:25 by sagacity sagacity
sagacity: there were a few cans of feinherb, say two or three rather swollen horses (being pissed off because some guy with a ponytail kept on bringing them useless messages) and a few API calls coming from the spaaacceeeee <insert funky movement with your right hand here> involved.

as you will understand, this is a genuine dutch technique.
added on the 2002-07-25 23:23:54 by superplek superplek
plek: does it also work on non-dutch colours, or would that require some sort of lookup-table?
added on the 2002-07-25 23:35:30 by sagacity sagacity
"ravity: sorry for not wobbling any spheres, twisted cylinders or planes featuring griddistortion :)"

hehe, good point :)
added on the 2002-07-26 00:30:33 by ravity ravity
from the spaaaaiiiceeeee
sagacity: you could perhaps fix this by removing a few rand() calls here and there..
added on the 2002-07-26 00:38:21 by superplek superplek
plek: ah right! jabdah for that.

Humm... I get very much the same feeling from this that I do from "Medium" (Einklang.net)... but Medium is a lot cooler, and the music is better too. :-) (Works flawlessly and very smooth on a Radeon8500, at least ;-) )
added on the 2002-07-26 03:26:49 by Sesse Sesse
This is an okay demo. Music seems very 'medium'-esque. The first gray 3D object looked quite nice. But poor old Mr. King...
it-'s ok. nice effects, smooth but the end have nothing to do here...
