a demo !
allmost the only prod that can be called a demo at vip4.. (read not a 3d animation player)

very nice work on transitions, all the evolution in a current flow of visuals.. sweet.. smeels a bit nu-media though..
but i probably dislike more the frenchy colors than the nu-media design.. or probably is it my anti-patriotic way of thinking ??

nice demo zone ! refreshing the depressing vip4 democompo..

I agree, this is a demo.
I actually liked the flashlike design, too.
I would like to see the other prods (i've seen the 1st and 2nd).
By now this is the best one.

the comments above are maybe a bit harsh for the other prods, but still i think this demo should have won

nothing to say about the top3 at vip4, more 3d worlds than demos.
but marshalls demo kills me when it was running on the big screen. design and rendering rulez!

fine looking. could be a bit longer though, or was it just that entertaining?

Nice. Should have been surely ranked higher. Nice visual effects, though i'm not a big fan of every piece of design in this demo. Anyway, cool to watch.

nice design
nice prod but to short...

pretty sweet design, a little bit on the cliche-ish side, but cool nonetheless.

excellent demo with excellent transitions and idea. I don't know why the demo is not ranked in the top 3 of the VIP4...

Well, this is indeed very stylish and well designed, the music is very good. We do need more demos like that.

On the other hand, it's too short, too big for what it shows, it eats something like 180megs of ram and seems to choke some parts on a 1366MHz processor...

does not work here. Asus Geforce 2; 256 DDRam; Athlon 1,4 Ghz. ALso the Homepage kills my Internet Explorer ;)

thx for watching it, and for your comments
(i'm ever so proud of Flod's comments ,'] )

this demo is a 1 week production, finished in a hurry at the party place, and enhanced a little bit for the final version
it's for that it is soo short! to produce 9 seconds of this demo, we used 12 hours of work.

i'm not a fan of it, i dislike the music for example. We (Isobel and I) do this demo to test if we can work together without flames on a common project :-) because it's so hard to work with me (ceux qui ont essayé se reconnaitront ;-p )
the result is yes we can work together, he dont kill me, so we will do another coop prods :-)

personnal msg : Isobel, namevoting and selfvoting sucks, you remember why i asked you to never vote for yourself in a party-compo, so dont do it here plz :'p nananère

technically it's flat and lightsourced cartoon vectorized antialiazed rendering in multilayers.
made with Paja, because Demopaja is the best tool i know to do perfect music synchros (thanx Memon for this fabulous tool)

Wain & "" : perhaps your video card is not the right one, try to run it on a no-opengl computer in no accel mode, for example this prod runs on a P3-700 128RAM with Intel chipsedvideo card! i dont know why this prod crash on few computers, including mine! :-(

about party ranking, we dont care, your positive comments are the true winner-cup.
see you in the next prod ,']
looks sweet

Just my thumb up. Best prod at vip4 !
rulez added on the 2002-07-14 09:39:27 by nakudoh nakudoh
A thumb-up for the demo and a thumb-down for the extremly bad loading/init-time-to-viewing-time ratio (about 10 minutes for loading vs. somewhat like 2 minutes demo...).

Too short and too laggish on my comp...
Colors sux, but nice overall flow.. no thumb down or up... (looks like flash =)

tested on :
P4 @1.8 + 512MbRam + GeForce4 128 ti4200
result : wait 2 or 3 minutes in windowed mode to see it, and it works.
we dont understand why it is soo slow to initialize the openGL on GeForce cards, because it is soo fast on Radeon card ?!?!
why not to use flash instead?
added on the 2003-02-12 19:22:57 by alkama alkama
Alkama : flash is a tool like 3DS, like Photoshop, like c++ ...

if we gives a flash source, it's like gives a c++ source or a .3DS file, it's not a demo, it's a 'compile yourself' crap
if we do flash exe with macromedia tools, it's not a demo, it's like rip some code

here, the swf replayer is home made, like when you make a mp3 player, or a 3ds player, or a JPG loader.... it's the same. you don't use photoshop to show your jpg pictures in your demos, you use your home made jpg player, here it's the same for swf :-)
If flash was extensible, it seems me it would have been the same than this. You would have coded some slight module and still use lots of included components.
I still think it would have been the same with flash (codewise since demopaja is used along with readymade pluggins;)

Config: Athlon 640 - Geforce 4 MX 440
Loading time : 4/5mn
Demoviewing time : 1/2 mn
I think i must add a "sucks" comment here, just for that.
And sorry but i don't like the style, i don't think the music fit the demo, 3d objects are to basics for my eyes, code seems to be to "designfull" for my brain, all is to flat for my soul, so.. I don't like the style. I prefer to watch one good 3d scene instead of 100 bad 3d scenes faded each other, maybe i don't like your definition of a demo.
And something created in one week can't be a demo, just a crappy 2d/3d show (like crappy 3d animation readers, humm not the same..)

Isnt this demo getting too much slagging? I think it is a bloody good demo.. Dont see any problem with the music/visuals either.. maybe im blind ;) But yes, this is what flash should have been..

Like it. A bit big for the content, but nice demo anyway.

Was quite short, but had somehow cool cartoon style - and music was not bad too.
rulez added on the 2010-11-05 23:48:25 by Sapphire Sapphire
The camera paths make this feel like really amateurish, the fact that it's made in demopaja probably has something to do with it. Same thing with some weird artifacts and renderinc quirks in the effects. Could've been great.

pretty OK there
