I was blown off from my shoes when I saw it. Probably one of the best, if not the best, software-rendered PC demos EVER.

crashes, vid plz
Maali: the party version requires to be run from command line with

-release -music

parameters. Kiero is working on the final version running properly from DOS (real DOS machines though, not emulators). Stay tuned.

Great track and an awesome if a bit rough around the edges in this version trip. The credits scene really stood out to me, but pretty much every scene works well. Unique and enjoyable software rendering style that's a nice little nod towards some shader styles that have been popular in the past decade.

Welcome back to PC MaWi! We missed you <3

@Hellmood: yes. This demo is technically a DOS demo (it was supposed to be released as such!) but due to various technical issues (unexpected hardware failure at the party place, to mention at least one of them) it was released as Win32 executable, so it could be run and demonstrated to the audience.

Awesome! Woke me up on a hard Tuesday morning at work :P

What are the HW specs for this? Was it originally planned to kick some ARSE in the Oldskool democompo at ARSEmbly?

Awesome demo! Looked great on bigscreen.

I don't know what this is supposed to run on, but it would've been a massive classic if it had been released back in the day. I kind of dislike glitchy unz unz-dnb-stuff, but this is very well done and the particle effect in particular is awesome.
rulez added on the 2016-09-06 09:44:16 by Preacher Preacher
i liked this quite a lot. fast phase and happy little glowing stuff all over the place. hopefully the authors can open up a bit about the intended (DOS) platform specs as it left me curious.
rulez added on the 2016-09-06 10:09:18 by waffle waffle
Rocks! Can't wait for final for MS-DOS? What will be the spec? Pentium?
rulez added on the 2016-09-06 10:21:59 by MKM MKM
The plan was to make it run under DOS on something like 233MHz CPU with MMX. Because of all the late time coding it might have gone up but for now i can't really tell how much (stopped caring when compo machine specs were revealed and just focused on getting tings done).
Final version should be released soon. There was something wrong when runnng MMX-enabled build and it really does require MMX for decent performance (plus few code paths dont have non-MMX versions). Either some DJGPP issue or something else.

@tFt
Unfortunately my lack of x86 asm coding skills made it require MMX for decent performance and ASM machine didnt have it.

I'd like to see that in my DOS machine. From what I've seen from the win version it's quite cool and I guess my new P3 beast will do it just fine

I assume this is software render if you plan to release ms-dos version. The windows release is far from perfect. The resolution is quirky, the output isn't displayed either in full screen or in a window mode (part of window's desktop is still visible which spoils the overall reception). The demo itself is too short.

@all
Hi, i have final versino lying here but i still cant test it on proper configuration (people are lazy). If someone can help and have something in line of pentium2/3 @ around 333MHz please drop me an email at [email protected]
@moonshine
Yes, windows version is a dirty build with quickly hacked 'fullscreen' output. This is also fixed in the final (there will be both dos and windows release).

If this was released back in the 90s it would certainly be an instant classic!
