The platform is probably more interesting than the picture for this one. It was written entirely at the party, on an iPad using the screen keyboard.

It's written in Apple's new 'Swift Playgrounds' IDE on iPad. In that you can write code in Swift and run it. Files are easily shared and bypass the app store completely. And you get full (or as much as regular apps at least) hardware access. It outputs a bundle with the source code inside, 4K is easily achievable (this is ~3.3K and isn't optimised), 1K might be possible.

Requirements:

- iPad only
- Needs metal (I figured it'd be more fun than OpenGL ;) so iPad Air, Pro or Mini with retina
- Requires iOS 10. Currently available as a public beta if you're brave :D
- Needs the Swift Playgrounds app. This is made by Apple, it's free on the app store if you have iOS 10.

Installing: Unzip, airdrop / mail / whatever the .playground file to the iPad, open it, it should add it to Swift Playgrounds. Open it, run the code.

Final added. Now <1.5KB :D Also works on any metal capable iPad now, not just the 9.7" pro model *cough* oops!

artefacts are intended ;D I only started writing the shader just after the deadline, got a ray marched repeating sphere, needed to make it less boring veeeery fast. It's offsetting the ray position based on distance from surface.

From what I can see, it's 100% identical between iPad + desktop.
