Watching "Modern ZX" Stuff is like watching wrestling in the late 80s as a kid. They may be on steroids, but as long as the show is good, I like it

2 decades ago David Carson published a book named “The End of Print”, and Neville Brody started to make fun with this. This situation is totally different. Bluntly saying, i’m really very concerned if such hardware-trolling and demoscene-trolling attitude from VBI (specially using a “visually-decent” demo as an “excuse”), if getting a pandemic spread, is going to bring “the end of demoscene”. Saying from my heart, it’s really sad seeing such situation happening in the demoscene, and perhaps, responsibly, we need to keep an eye on such situations happening, if we want to see the whole demoscene living forever. And honestly saying, it’s not an “attack” to anyone (specially VBI), it’s just a very honest concern, that worriedly i think i shouldn’t be quiet about (not me, and i think that not anyone as well).
lol. if anything, new hardware configs keep the demoscene alive and not kill it off.
@SagaMusix - there is nothing to laugh about, i’m really concerned... :S
And what exactly are you concerned about? That people might *shock!* try out *new* things for once and not repeat the same old things on same old hardware? How can producing new content possibly kill the scene?

@TS-Labs come on... what i posted about i thought it was clear and explanatory that there is no “dooming” from my part - my downvoting is only about concerns about such Pandora’s box that is being opened in the demoscene that might destroy the demoscene totally, unless all demos starts to be only labeled and relabeled as “wild” only - personally, i’m very laissez-faire about this, if people want to destroy the demoscene, okay, what can we do, isn’t it? it is a clear example of what B.F. Skinner said frequently: “we can only improve behaviours and attitudes by improving the environment”, and just see how it fits on what is happening or (sadly) going to happen - and getting “extinct” or not is not an issue, or even relevant anyhow - and yes, @SagaMusix , it’s great seeing new hardware and new configurations around, but there is a huge difference between “being cool” and “pretending to be cool”, as here, as everywhere else
The demoscene will die when instead of watching, feeling and trying to understand other people's prods, everyone will engage into petty platform politics.

i’m also totally not interested in “wars”, and agree that being in the demoscene is all about challenges, fun and joy - my concern is on basic issues, perhaps there is no problem at all, for example, making a demo for Atari-ST and label it as “C64 Enhanced” - or perhaps making a demo for Arduino or IchigoJam and label it as “ZX Enhanced” - and humbly, i’m just saying now what, very probably, we will see more people concerned about this as well - and let’s see what happens in the next months, years and decades...

Your comparison is stupid and misleading. You _cannot_ load Atari-ST demo into C64, whatever label you attach to it. You _can_ load pretty much any ZX demo into TS-Conf and it will work just as well as any other Pentagon-type clone.
So leave your insincere "concerns" for someone else. The fact is, you either don't know what you are talking about, or you are deliberately misleading people. I am not sure which of these options is more damning.

VBI, definitely we need more darkstyle demos! Maybe less hate in the demo itself, but i love how dark and hard it is.
VBI is a good boy , but he is easily influenced by western culture and stop encoding on ZX Speccy, thereby undermining efficiency for the country, for Russia !
