I'm disappointed. It might be rather called 'RUSSIAN ZX Spectrum Scene Legends with Baze&Hvge, Evilpaul and Mat&Ziutek'. Where is Omega, where is Gasman, where is Alone Coder, where is Yerzmyey, where are the others? Sorry, but thumb down for this distorting 3l337arish prod... Btw. the 'ZX Spectrum' should be correctly written with no dash.
Yeah, where is Factor6? Thumb down!))
Focuses entirely on Russian demosceners. It's as if the rest of the world doesn't exist to you!
@factor6, PROSM, I have to say guys, you are seriously unfair here. This is not a textbook trying to rewrite the scene history. This is a prod by one of the guys in the centre of Russian renaissance of Spectrum, sharing his personal experience. His personal experience, evidently, was mostly shaped by the Russian demoscene of very early 2000s. Your experiences are clearly different. So why don't you do a prod like this too? that would be a lot more constructive.
I thought that these stupid "us" vs "them" (East vs West) wars were the thing of the past, but clearly not. Oh well.

@introspec: I think you speak a lot of sense there
Anyway, I like this. It's nice to be reminded about some great Speccy demos and also to be able to put faces to the names behind them. Also.. I feel honoured to be listed here alongside a bunch of people who I respect. Flattery helps to get you a thumbs up.. ;D

I enjoyed this, good to see the people who made some of my favorite Speccy demos. :) And what introspec said!
thanks to introspec for saying that! sometimes it is quite hard to find the right words.
what introspec said.
thanks for prod,Placebo!
thanks for prod,Placebo!
Thanks for refreshing my memory!
Legends never die!
nice tribute, even though i think some figures (like gasman, yerzmyey, and also some other polish pioneers from the late 1980s) are unjustly missing
@introspect, while the contribution the Russians made to the demoscene is undeniable, there are a few sceners of other nationalities that are, as dipswitch just said, 'unjustly missing'.
@PROSM, "focuses entirely on Russian demosceners" is simply untrue.
Unless you just do not know people mentioned in the video.
I would actually agree with you that some names may be missing. But this would be my personal point of view, and I am pretty sure that you wouldn't like my "the best of the best" list and, probably, I won't like yours.

Nice enough with an overview. It's probably biased but it always will be.
simple, not sound
no
what a pile of crap
@introspec and @diver, I want to apologise for the comments made by myself back in 2015. They were made on the back of nonexistent evidence and were incendiary and wholly inappropriate.
Having watched the video again, I have to say I quite enjoyed it. Very nicely put together with a real mix of sceners.
Please consider my previous 'thumbs-down' a firm 'thumbs-up', and let me once again express my regret at my earlier statements, and the frustration caused by them.
All the best,
PROSM

@PROSM, I really appreciate your comment. I actually agree that old Russian scene was very insular, for historical reasons, and significant part of it remains quite isolated to this day. As a Russian living in the UK, I am hoping that this divide between the scenes can be slowly bridged.
