Just a few notes:

  • on Windows, you need to have native GL enabled in the browser for that to run,
  • on Firefox, the packed version can take ... a while ... to unpack.

Will add a video and readable source code shortly.
Very nice prod. Liked the attention to details a lot :)

Yeah, needs video. Only starts on one of my PCs, unfortunately the 2 years older one so it's a slideshow with sound stutter. What I saw seems promising :)

@Photon, yeah, not really surprised there. I'll upload a video tomorrow.
Actually, upload finally completed, so here: video
the "music" is not my cup of tea but the intro looks really nice with its style. well done!

Very poetic and beautifully glitchy. Really stands out in a style I've come to love from some of Still's productions. I hope TheT does some minisite for it as he showed the first beta pictures of the latter (it was god but nowhere unique) before he took some decision to reorientate his intro artisitically and that simple choice really made a huge difference and paid off.

Visuals rock, but audio is a mess.

Many fab scenes, not a bad one among them. Wish the music was equally fab, but a piggy for this is out of the question!

Doesn't work on FF here. Chrome plays music with a black screen. I love what i see in the video though, any idea what i can do? Win7 64bit, GTX9800+.

@HellMood:

What do you mean exactly by "doesn't work" in Firefox? Does it fail to start, do you get some sort of error, or does it just display garbage?
Cool

@TheT : it goes black, no sound, then freezes. Ask's to be closed because it doesn't react (Script is busy, doesn't reply). I denied three times and let it run, but nothing.

So i updated to the newest version, tried again, kept on "don't stop the script", and got at least the white rounded rect fading and out, with the music playing flawlessly, still i don't see most of the show :/

@HellMood:

Ok, so the white rounded rectangle thing is because you need to enable native GL ("webgl.prefer-native-gl" option in about:config).

As for the slow initialisation, Firefox seems to hate the compression.
neat :)

If you require native-gl anyways... Maybe go for native binaries?
rulez added on the 2014-11-08 12:35:20 by las las
@las: The native-gl requirement kind of came as a last minute surprise - a.k.a. "Why does it only show a gray rectangle on the compo machine?" (wrote the intro and tested it only on Linux)
Late thumb.
Awesome one-man prod.

The music is very clumsy sometimes (in the second half especially), so is the direction (in a nutshell: too much shaking). More maturity here could have bring this intro in another league.

That said, the tech is great, and I love the rendering & this b/w+1color style.

Congratz.
