The fucker won't run correct under DOSBox at the first start. On my machine it takes 7 restarts to look correct. If anyone knows why (i assume somehow it has something to do with memory access; i mentioned it in the source) feel free to enlighten me :D No running problems under XP.

Or feel free to grab a video.

And don't forget: Let the sunshine in your heart (=
Nice! Reminds me of the cool light shining through-effects that were popular in the 90's.

Super! And nice ascii-art too!!!
[bp] is actually [ss:bp] and initial values in stack segment can be (and usually is) different in dosbox and winxp.

frag: but even with mov word[bp+si],si as initial setting it did not run correct here under dosbox (i just used add to get the "random" initial values into my values). all values stay the same and just change from one restart to another. mysterious stuff for me (=
works fine in win xp, time to downgrade!

When i run this it looks nothing like the screenshot. Same colours but it just bounces from top to bottom and looks pretty meh. Running on XP SP3. And after watching the video download it defo looks absolutely nothing like that so no idea why it runs different.

Intrinsic: I have no idea too. Works here under XP SP3. Try to start it a few times. Do things change?
Running it direct from the archive gives the same results each time. If i extract the file, open a command prompt and run it from there it starts off as previously, but each time i run it it changes slightly, and then after a few restarts it just stops working O.o How very odd! I've even tried it on 2 different XP installs on this machine and the results are the same...

that is really strange :\
As a test i also run this in 2 XP VMs, One is like my current system as i heavily tweak my XP setups disabling all sorts of things like LastAccessTime, 8.3 name generation etc etc, most services are disabled and i run Directory Opus completely replacing the default XP shell. The other is a bare-bones XP SP3 which is jsut kept patched incase i want to setup another VM for something.

On the VM like my usual desktop it has the same issue, but on the baseline XP VM with no tweaks it works fine! So i'm guessing one of my dozens of tweaks i use initialises the registers in a different way or something for launching programs? maybe under usual circumstances one of the regs you use is populated with LastAccessTime? hmm. Prolly something undocumented either way.
