Exellent !

While I still consider storing the code in a PNG somewhat cheating, the synth is awesome!

Nice synth. Too bad that even simple graphics run horribly slow in browsers (compared to native code).

If it's slow, it's more likely a gfx card issue, since all the performance critical stuff runs in a (rather heavy) fragment shader on the GPU.

Cool! If it's slow, try downsizing the browser window, in full-screen it was choppy for me but with a smaller window it was smoooth.

Finally got to watch it. Crazy busy and wifi is acting up on my laptop today :\

Pretty cool tune and decent graphics.

Funny to see the code isn't minified before compression. Did the minification ruin the compression ratio or the intro already fit in 4k and you didn't bother? I haven't looked into details at the JS port of Sonant but my first impression is that it's a tad big for JS 4k intros. It's nice to hear another type of sound too. Nice job of this new synth!

The code was minified with G:s closure compiler before the PNG-compression, but I left the uncompressed version unminified.

Regarding the original Sonant effort, I was actually targeting 64k JS, but as it turned out, it worked quite well for 4k too :)

Strange that Google Closure Compiler kept the variable names dist, drive, panAmt, panFreq, dlyAmt, dly, ... and didn't minify the calls to Math methods. Oh well! Only means it's possible to squeeze more stuff into those 4ks

p01 - Doh! I don't know how many times I went over the compiled code, and still I missed dlyAmt and friends... It was my fault - did a ";" instead of a "," in one place, making those variables global-scoped (probably hurting performance too) :(

Haven't seen the prod yet, but the tune alone gets a thumbup!

Some more info about the synth here: The SoundBox synth (I decided to move away from the "Sonant" name, since this is a separate branch - I know Ferris at least has Sonant 2 as a follow up to Sonant).

T$ - could you be a bit more specific? I've tried it in FF, Chrome and Opera. Don't know about Safari (though I know it won't work in IE).
