Nice one. Probably the first fullscreen 50hz rotozoomer, even if too blocky :). Seems to be using CRTC trick for copying lines and make the blocks render fast. Cool!

Sorry for not being able to compete with you this time. Your email inspired me to start with something though but time was too little (and the power outages in the greek vicinity screw my creative flow, twice :P). But there is something I almost started here, maybe Euskal..

Technically interesting !

A minor detail : the rotation seems to lack some accuracy (at least when watching it from emulator).

Pouce levé ! :)
rulez added on the 2011-06-27 15:38:40 by norecess norecess
@Norecess: the rotation is word precise and the fixed point maths are done with 8 bits maths. So, the same result is obtain on a real screen.

Very fast and with music!

Great prod, especially when considering that the music takes most of the space!

More impressive than what I was waiting for in a so little dev time... CPC 4K challenge turns interesting!

Congrats Krusty !
Visually impressive rotozoom due the 50fps.The same routine in a big demo with more complex and colorful graphics would be great (I think the effect is not 100% exploited now due the small and monochrome graphics, obviously because of the 4kb limitation).

Btw, I think that effects in one frame should be a constant rule for a good democoding. :)
rulez added on the 2011-06-28 11:00:45 by Rhino/BG Rhino/BG
@rhino: of course ugly gfx are due to the 4k constraints.
With exactly the same code, I can display a picture which does not need to loop vertically, and which may not need to loop horizontally (but I am not sure, I do not remember well).
I am not a big than of these boring fullscreen line to line splitting effects. My favorites parts of BF are clearly the tunnel and dot effects, not the fullscreen pictures effect.

@krusty
untill you present a solid production you should better stop picking up on rhino.
whether you like it or not he is the top coder of cpcscene atm along with vanity.

as for the prod
Still the bests!(MAYBE IN YOUR DREAMS)
Good code
AWFUL artistic design
EVEN worse graphics
totally amateurish music(@the composer you need a new musician maybe Factor6 is available)
Overall crap
to those that whine about the 4k limitations there is an easy way out MAKE IT BIGGER!

No pb about your thumb down, but, you are totally wrong...

@breakbeatsz
if you would know me and have a bit of humor, you will understand the following points:
- I have never stop picking up on Rhino
- The title is just a reference to this demo: Simply the bests!
- graphics cannot be awful as there are no gfx at all
- I respect Rhino's work and he is already aware of that
- I have to respect Vanity's work, otherwise Beb will not give me hist latest picture
- I find this music encouraging for a new musician with respect to the constraints
- The only comparison you can done is these demos, there are no other 4K on CPC

Of course, you are free to replace Shap in do better in two weeks!

@krusty
-BF No 50 all time prod in pouet nuff said
-does it really matters?
-graphics is everything visual and not sth you created by painting technic
-awareness and declaration are 2 different things.glad you made that clear
-vanity... waiting for his confrontation against BF(this is what demoscene i all about going
A Step Beyond).In other words we agree on this one
-encouraging ? gimme a break mate
-actually comparison can be done with everysingle demo.you chose the 4k road live with it
Haven't yet seen it in action, but thumbs up just for breakbeatsz being clueless :)

@britelite
so you think i'm clueless
if this is correct it wont be difficult for you to answer why video art took over the fields of demomaking.
its all about coding for you right?
keep saying that to yourself and maybe in 5 years from now pouet will you and 10 more people registered.
says the guy who's commenting on cpc-demos...
added on the 2011-07-01 18:15:07 by britelite britelite
exactly im commenting on a 8bit system
for your information ay and sid are quite popular in recent years 2007 till present time
also in many mainstream european dance music tracks 8bit sound generators are used

but its all about coding for you right?LOL!!!

so yes im clueless when it come to coding but you are obviously clueless when it comes to demos

keep on coding..........

but you are obviously clueless when it comes to demos

This made me giggle like a school girl. Thus: thumb. :D

@britelite
off topic
Moonfire sounds quite good could be better if you placed a D&B/Breaks like drum line.
not having c64 do not know if it is possible
@breakbeatsz:
For the "AWFUL artistic design": you will have to blame me and not Krusty! I am the responsible for the color-selection...
For the "EVEN worse graphics": where do you see graphics exactly man?
For the "totally amateurish music(@the composer you need a new musician maybe Factor6 is available)": you should understand that CPC needs new blood; thus, Egotrip is more than welcome! As for the "amateurish" characterization, perhaps you should first understand the amount of data that can be stored within 4K in a CPC!
For the "Overall crap": Your opinion! ...and as the thumbs down reveal, the only negative one!
For the "to those that whine about the 4k limitations there is an easy way out MAKE IT BIGGER!": How much bigger? It's already overscan! :P Seriously now, it's a 4K prod man; take it easy :)
added on the 2011-07-01 21:53:28 by voxy voxy
@breakbeats I should explain that I composed the music in Arkos Tracker, on a studio PC. I currently have no access to a real CPC and the music sounds different in different emulators so I had no idea how it would sound on a real CPC. Hopefully in the near future I will have access to one. This might go some way to explaining how my music is "amateurish".
added on the 2011-07-01 22:27:15 by egotrip egotrip
@breakbeats come on, it's a limited prod by its nature (a 4Kb prod) on a highly limited machine (a CPC) presenting the really first fullscreen 50hz roto-zoomer.. what are you complaining about? Other people will probably do better with time, but there is always "a first". This is all what the demoscene is meant to be, no?

@egotrip I enjoyed your latest musics, I really look forward hearing your next songs

BB Image Aggressive guy who produced nothing (except negative posts here)

BB Image Guys who actually produce stuff on a machine that could use more active sceners

→ The thumb goes to the productive guys with the scene spirit of course :)

50hz fullscreen rotozoom on an 8bits machine, in 4k.

Enough said.

the message/question inside batman group demo has being answered
Long Term Vacation
Keep saying to yourself that this is a good prod
in the end you might believe it
Negativity?
Watch some of the cpc scene productions and you will fully understand the reason im doing this.
Thanks goodness the cpc gamescene has different mentality
i'll leave you know to let you concentrate on your next scroller demo
and you're still clueless... :)

It's far from perfect, but for a fastmade 4k it's good enough for a thumb up. Will see if I can beat that in 256b this summer :)

BB: Are you actually aware that they know each other personally and meet in meetings almost everytime and are not aggressively ranting at each other? I dont know, but i think i haven't seen you there and rant at them in person. ;-)

Second 4kb on Amstrad, and nice one ! The alien is a little bit too blocky to my taste (I prefer the one in an old Fatality intro :-) ). Impressive code !

@T&J: I think you forgot the very first CPC 4k by CNGSoft (released in this prod).
Full-rate rotozoom on the CPC: 'nuff said.
@Grimmy: I can't believe someone still remembers that silly piece of code of mine! Thanks, it's very appreciated!
