A 'story' type demo, but a nice simple racing story. Nicely done, and it seem to grab my attention more as the show progressed. At first it was just OK, but by the end I was in love!

The hand, and especially the eye, coming out of the concrete block was my favourite effect. Good work!

might as well be a wild demo, or an animation outtro for a video game. as a demo it doesn't work.

Pretty good demo ! It has a good design, pretty well modelized, a good music, and not boring at all.

I don't like 3d-shows, but this one got a really nice story. I saw it with the democrew before the compo (without sound) and didn't quite like it, but I changed my mind after watching it on the bigscreen.

I'm just wondering, why does most parts (when the racers are involved) run so slow on my fairly fast computer with a geforce? Or is this something like a "1.5GHz or more, Geforce3 only"-demo? Usually, low framerate is annoying, but I didn't mind with this demo.. it's just lovely =) But I'd still like to know why it's so slow.. could this be fixed in a final version, or do I have to live with it?

I wonder why such a nice idea was wasted by making an ugly demo out of it instead of a great mpg. The only "demo" effect is out of place. But then, I'm an oldschool coder so what do I know. :) FPS crawls at some points, and I've got a P4-1.7 GF3 so it's not a horsepower problem...

Great idea, nice gfx work, bad code and horrendous music. Thumbs down for this onw, but I will be looking forward new prods by The Lost Souls, because fixing code & music problems is much easier than fixing idea problems. :)

Good planerace story that is well executed. Nice sound effects blended together with the music.

The first time I executed this demo it ran jerky in the early parts of the race scene.
I ran it again and then the framerate was much better in that part which was jerky at first time running.

i hate the music because its cheese dance and sounds like all theo ther cheese....but the visuals *droool* o_O plain nuts running on a brand new gf4ti4600 + quincunx. the character animation are by far the most cinvincing i have seen so far. c'mon graphics dudes, lets see some more than a head next time puelease!

this lies in the same demo/game/wild category as DonQuijote2.0 (and it involves retro planes too), but the execution is somewhat lacking. those 'demo-fx' (that were apparently supposed to make it look more like a demo) don't fit at all. music is on the brink of the usual dancechart idiocy. good modeling, but the world those dudes race at just looks very deserted and un-alive..
btw it ran just with a few slowdowns on my office p3-800/g450 (I expected a slideshow, but was nicely surprised 8)).

Well, all I got was a veeery slow slideshow. But I liked the music despite its cheesiness. Or perhaps because of that. ;->

Have to agree with neon: Didn't really like it the first time, but the more I watch it, the more I love it :-) Unfortunately, it has some bugs (enable mipmapping, anyone? :-P), but I trust such things will be fixed in a final version... The music and sound effects really are the final touch making this demo a very cool production. :-)

one of the best "story"-demos of the last 5 years. download now (or; wait for the final-version :). many of the scenes in this demo sent chills down my spine. kudos to tls for delivering the goods, again. :)

I started out not seeing anything special about this prod, but I am starting to love this prod. I've been playing the cheezy soundtrack in winamp quite a bit too.
guess I just like cheeze, and especially kezoomer's (love the anytime soundtrack as well :)

Its real frustrating seeing more and more demos beeing a 3d show only. Even if the modelling is good i dont see this as a demo but more as the intro to some game.

I agree with andromeda.. 3d only sucks.

i dunno, i thought both modelling and textures were pretty bad. the music sucked, too. and those "scenish" effects put in the middle of everything don't fit. the only things i liked were the hand and the photofinish.

at start... way below average (almost pressed esc). In the end... well funny feeling i think I actually liked the demo...

gotta love this one! lovely story, and great soundtrack! the models look maybe a little too simple, but you won't notice after a short while, because you'll be too much into the story. the ending is perfection! has been running on my screen 24/7 the last few days... :)

This is pretty cool. Nice (altough simple) models, and nice story, but that music is so bad, that I'd rather watch it without sound.

A thumb down rating might be a little harsh, but on the other hand I cannot find a good argument to give this demo an ok, or even a thumbs up.

First, i thought the music was alright... until that girl started singing... arg. Secondly, most of the textures simply didn't fit and the whole scenario is a little dull. At the end it's just another 3d fly-by, but heck, there are much better ones out there. :)

The beginning of the demo is quite dull, and everything seems like having too much saturation, candy-colored. Storyline is ok, the demoeffects in the pillar arent' really good, the eye is quite nice.

But just the opposite to what Tomaes said, the demo kicks like from gear N to gear 5 when the singing really starts and the brave hero accelerates. It's a really moving part in the demo, almost bringing a tear to my eye. Good job with the end part!

ok, kinda late commenting here .. but i just have to add that i totally love this production. i've seen it countless times since the gathering and it was a real experience seeing it there..

at first it looked rather usual .. but after the middle part .. WOW. And all the way to the finish line (yeah, right? :) .. WOO. Vocals rocks .. and even if its kinda cheesy eurotranceish, it works out great.

Unlike my TAP-dude Tomaes I really like the demo. Nice story, nice music, lovely vocals and not-so-industrial-grafics do really good fit together. When I compare it to my childhood, the cool kids were watching tv-series but I loved cartoons. This demo is like a cartoon. :)

i gotta say that what I like the most about this demo is the music. The visuals are not -that- appealing (although it has some cool effects in it), and the music kinda doesn't fit either, but the vocals in the tune and the change in tones simply makes me shiver a few times during the demo... that's just enough to give it a rulez :-)

I have to say though, that I've always liked Kezoomer's style, so I'm biased on this :-)

Anyway, good demo and worth a watch. Probably nothing breath-taking and not an unforgettable one, but gives enough to be worth watching.

Models are OK, music is OK... it actually tells a story and the booster part has a real nice kick to it. Worth seeing once at least.

Music is no great work on its own, but matches the picture magically. Some shots are just great angles; they build interest, and the end is really climactic.

It's ok, actually one of the better storytelling ones. I'm not particularly fond of the modelling and it's not very refined. There are some very unimpressive "demo effects" between the racing scenes that should've been left out.

Patch to make it use proper mipmapping instead of those ugly pixelated linear thingies:

• Change GL_LINEAR to GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR: 0xf607 = 0x03, 0xf608 = 0x27
  
• Change glTexImage2D to gluBuild2DMipmaps: 0xf655 = 0xa4, 0xf656 = 0xe6
  
• NOP the parameters gluBuild2DMipmaps don't take (mipmap level and border): Set 0x90 in 0xf643, 0x4644, 0xf64c and 0xf64d.
  

Or just grab the changed exe from here :-)
