awesome!
Yeah!
Seriously hardcore. Although the execution is so slick here that it's probably hard to tell exactly *how* hardcore. But trust me, it is.
.
are you fucking kidding me
Lookin' good! :)
lovely!
Holly cow!
-
FUCK YOU
hehe, great platform choice. as usual, great stuff Shadow! :)
noice! hardcore on all obscure platforms!
Nice :)
Really great.
Utterly rules :-)
wtf!
Quality as usual :)
Amazing
cool !
O_o

Unbelievable!
Incredible prod for ZX81.
Thumbs up, Soldier! :)

outstanding :)
what's the formula for a wormhole? cool stuff! but .. hnn.. need... more... explanation of cool tricks.. tech .. info . for big appreciation.. hnn
I certainly hope it runs in NTSC (:
(Yes I know I'm the ONLY Timex-Sinclair 1000 scener, but it's in the US and I can't get it here yet. I will.)

no music :( but cool none the less.
It's was the first computer i touched...
You almost made me cry, naughty boy!

What visy said.
NOICE visuals!
Fuck, man - satan helped You for sure.
I love the stuff.
Ah, only one thing: remembering long time of loading You could next time loop the demo.
Thanx for Your work and I hope it's not Your the last demo for ZX81.

Visy: this computer has no sound.
Great!
Damn. I soldered this machine together 25 years ago with my own hands and typed in my ASM code directly as character strings in a REM line. But this one is madness. How the hell do you get that noisy characters for the rotator and the plasma in place. Is is there a way to put RAM where the charset is?
very nice, noice. Should have ranked much higher.
Only 6th place? I voted for it as a 'rules!'
Unpossible!
rnr
wild and exotic hardware is the bestest category to compete in.
Fun guaranteed.
Fun guaranteed.
very noice indeed
Yerz: It does too! The tape interface makes 2 tones (:
clever stuff! should have placed higher i reckon
Yes, exactly. The tape interface could be utilized for sound ;)
Cool!
truck / visy: I realise that you're not being *entirely* serious, but the sound and video output on the ZX81 are wired to the same bit of the same I/O port. A demo that managed to combine audio and visuals effectively really would be worth a thumb up... I suspect the best you're going to get is a "tribute" to Cognoscere :-)
Well, in theory it could play sounds via tape-out but sadly - somehow - it has much weaker amplifier than ZX Spectrum has. I was loading many sound progs for ZX81 but the sound was on the edge of audibility (is there such a word in English?!?!).
Anyway - with sound generated by Z80 the screen would be static. :) At best. :)
Of course there was AY-interface for ZX81 (actually it was BEFORE Spectrum) but for now I didn't manage
1) to force anybody to port the device to ZX81
2) to force anybody to make progs for it. ;)

Awesome! Is that for 16K rampack? Can't believe it would be 1K :)
I dont see anything special in here that looks hard to be done on 16k ram / slower cpu than c64. piggie for the platform.
hires was possible:

shadow: you rule as usual :-)
sdw, Im aware its a hacked charscreen but not much more .) so maybe its possible to do any line-any place effects? (FPP on c64) would be cool for twisters, etc :) I dont get you tho, charset may be not redefined, but repointed ?!
Mister Foxy "O", you still suck as your crap machine do and still even ZX81 can do better things than your crap hardware for young wealthy yuppies with no brain like yourself.
Thank you for your crap comment - every crap comment from you means the demo is highly incredible, you jerk.

abscess, are you even capable of commenting on pouet without insulting C= in some way or another? (regardless of your opinion of Oswald). Your 'demoblog' speaks volumes...
noice!
good work once again !
good work once again !
lol, abscess is truly hillarious
"Yes. Spectrum clearly has the best graphic among 8-bitters"
and here's my thumb for using rom as charset ;)

amusing comments :)
great prod, i like it!
great prod, i like it!
Of course I said nothing about Spectrum, as it's a ZX81 demo (mr Foxy "O" can distinguish only between his device and "all other computers", that's even more pityful than I thought) but of course the "O" is not capable of commenting on pouet without insulting Spectrum, BBC or whatever, in some way or another, even if the thread is about totally different machines. It shows increasing intellectual impotence of mr Foxy "O": he came even _here_ to insult machine not related with this thread. Truly impressive hatred to superior computers. It's on a verge of obsession.
But Alpha C will never notice it as he's an owner of C64 himself. That's very special visual and intellectual blindness typical for owners of specific electronic devices.

spectrum sucks!! :)
spectrum sucks!! :)
Not bad. No audio? :(
Nice
Great!
Real good prod for a ZX81, too bad there's no audio support on the platform. That would kick even more :)
Yeah, cool demo.
And nice to see that abscess is being his clueless self as always :)

That's awesome !
britelite, actually abscess is mostly right, just like in this case.
and i could say many words about oswald's behaviour but actually it's really enough to state he's simply beeing stupid.
ah, whatever.

johny: seems like we've been reading different posts from him, but as you said, whatever :)
Aww, no audio support?
antdude: Yes, no audio support. See my comment above about simultaneous sound and video being basically impossible...
Time for a long overdone thumb up.
Really cool stuff :)

great
Where was my thumb?!
stunning!
awesome :D
Yay!
.
great
Nice.
nice
Awesome demo! Great content for 16kb!

if this prod is a fake, some info is false or the download link is broken,
do not post about it in the comments, it will get lost.
instead, click here !
Otherwise you can watch the YouTube video.
Note however that the scroller seems very jerky in the youtube video, on the real thing it is smooth as butter 50 fps! :)
If you have a real ZX81 you can use this to load the binary from an mp3 player to the cassette interface. Note that it takes almost four minutes to load a 10kb binary - that's some serious transfer speed! :)
