Deserves to win just because of BitArts track itself.
It wasn't bad, but didn't really captivate me. I preferred the Amiga demo from Brainstorm this year.
Picnics are usually boring and this one was really boring.
i really love it, one of the best demos this year
it had music in it, therefore deserves a thumb. The others didn't.

It's a bit unfinished at parts and the startup is very slow, sorry about that. I'm gonna release the source code and a final version when I get back home and recover a bit..

Lots of really neat effects, but was lacking in overall "purpose", and the music didn't really work for me at all. Still definitely in the top 3 of this years PC compo.
The beginning was really "fairytale 3.0" ;) I have a feeling this may grow on me, but for now it's in the "pretty but boring" category.

Very nice, probably the best in demo compo.
I really didn't like this demo. Imo it's too "grey", with an annoying random noise filter applied to the screen. Also, the song is very staccato and not my taste. Sorry, thumb down.

Maybe a tad boring but overall a thumb-worthy demo. The effect at the beginning (and the screenshot) is awesome.

something is missing, can´t explain ......atleast one of the better prods at BP PC-Demo-Compo and worth a thumb up for sure. :D
Some more movement would have been nice. Atmosphere is ace, which is also a result of the cool soundtrack by Bit Arts. Nevertheless more variety would have been nice for the sound.
I can't get into the technical terms of this. But, the room with the spikes and "fire particles" fall, is my goosebum moments of the demo. It looked really good on the bigscreen. Now, Preacher. Kick someones but to port this to the Mac. (I have tested it again here, it runs perfectly on my iMac under both windows and emulated windows)
Crashed here after the precalc, it play one note then go back to desktop. XP SP3, 8800 GTS 320

Doesn't seem to work correctly on my GF9600GT, or alternatively is super-low on effects but I doubt that. First thing I see is the static and then the floor but nothing else... later some snow with the floor... :P
Great athosphere. And it runs fine & smooth (except some scenes) on ye olde GF6600! (800x600, but who cares :)) I love that book. Thanks, guys.

Wonderful short story and great demo as well, even though I didn't expect the artefacts to look like that. Well that's the power of the zone I guess!

nice demo (visuals, soundtrack) with a great first scene, but it didn't really captivate me, this style is not my cup of tea I think (too static/repetitive).
Didnt' seem too promising at the beginning (e.g. the screenshot effect has been seen before, with the exact same colors to boot), but after that there was a big bunch of very interesting scenes that glued me to the screen. Good color choices, very fitting music. Great.

A little weird (and long), but highly enjoyable nonetheless. The opening effect is mesmerizing and the soundtrack is instant iPod material.

The only demo at the party with high res textures.
Not so sure about this one...it has some nice scenes (although a bit "empty" with the black/static/one-floor-texture backgrounds) but it seems to go nowhere...so it feels kinda random. On the other hand, music and most of the particle effects were great. So it's a weak thumb from me.

Perhaps this demo would be strange to those people who never read science-fiction novels (like those of Arkady and Boris Strugatsky) but, anyway, it was very good to see a demo like this one on the bigscreen.

It doesn't, even all the shaders compile properly. Hopefully I get the same issues when I wire up my brand new GTX 295 so I can try to fix them :)

I like this one. It has a few very nice scenes and the music, graphics and movement - everything fits so well.
big improvment over the one I saw. The synch is great. Smoke very nice. well done on your 2nd place.

Music is not bad rather repetitve and uninspired, effects are good but do not fit with music score, scenes are way too long.....I have seen better brainstorm/traction demos.
