i guess this is what a bits demo would look like if they/he spent more time with modern hardware. :) nothing impressive, but it has its charm, and for this year's compo, it was pretty decent.

The music was ok. Most of the scenes - except for the screenshot part maybe - felt pretty empty though.

optimus - finally something from your side that's ok - you even get a thumb for that.
Lose the angst and you'll do fine, you know :) This wasn't half bad but it was kind of lost in the compo among the 3491834 entries.

in all honesty, there are 3 problems with the demo that are fairly easy to fix in the future:
1) totally unimaginative effects - maybe try to focus on an effect showing ONE thing rather than an effect with an overlay of another effect (metaballs with mandelbrot projected upon then and such horrors)
2) Bad timing. Same thing happens for 1 minute.
3) Utterly horrible music. Your brother cannot compose, sorry.

Trust me, my brother can do much better. Demo music is just not his style of music (Or when I ask him to make me a classic demo music I get something different than what I expect :). And there was the deadline so he decided to give it unfinished.
I thought the juhlia stars were slightly imaginitive. Well not much, but slightly. Most shader demos are just some 3d scenes with tons of layer effects. I think. But thanks anyways for the suggestions.

Optimus: Any music can be demo music. Having something unusual would actually be rather cool.
Yes, I am just speaking with my brother that maybe he should make me his own style of music and then I build a demo upon it, not the opposite way.
i like it very much, except for the whiney scroller.
respect, optimus! i think this was quite pleasant. please do not stop making demos, rather take the advices given in this thread to your heart and then make something really cool!
the emo scroller was a bit unnecessary, and some effects where a bit too long, but all in all it was nice.

I really enjoyed the music. But there is a lack of breaks/bass/sfx whatever where one scene goes into another. The music is too much chilled for what's going on. Overall a neat demo.

Music is pretty boring and the rather simple effects are shown way too long. Still not that bad though, I liked the greetings part.
I must say this isn't nearly as bad as it seems. Sure, it's a piece of shit, but it's a piece of shit with soul :)
