Cool trir for Windows. It seems emc has started converting all the classic demos. The Winner of Gardening '96, a must see, with perfect (as always) music synch.

colors en mass, but still an okayish demo (for the time being).
When I first saw this demo at the Gardening '96 (besides knowing that it would be the definite winner) it made me wonder... Greece can make such a demo?..

That was the time that I acquired belief in the greek demoscene. Well done demos, and thanx emc for porting this baby for win32.

Very revolutionary for the timeframe it was released as well as the country it was released in.

Don't stop.. the rhythm is rough

I suppose this was pretty good for it's time.
amusic: i doubt that this demo was revolutonary for anyone else than the greek scene.
macaw: ante gamhsou re malaka

Also, why WOULDN'T Greece be able to make such a demo? It's not really based on country or anything.

sagacity: Because Greek groups are very few, the scene is very small and geographicaly Greece is rather detached from the rest of Europe. So we can't make it to big parties, meet the rest of the guys etc. It's not a nationalism thing, it's just that it's harder for Greeks to keep in touch. Thank god we have the net... :-)
When Tran came to Greece and I met him personally, I thought it was a dream or something! :-)

Of course all of the above are not excuses for appreciating Greek demos more or less, it's just an excuse for the Greek sceners enthousiasm around Greek prods, nothing more.

mot, all you wrote was one big excuse for _why_ you guys are being so nationalistic. The demo is quite nice, not top-notch or anything, but ok for the time being.
macaw: Fair enough. This conversation has been had again and again anyway. I just wanted to explain why this happens.

Lets just make and watch demos now, shall we? :-)

Brilliant demo ! Way beyond the basics : rotation of a gouraud shaded object, plasmas, rotozoomer ;-). Wish, really wish, to see more of that in the future..

lompas: plasmas, rotozoomer? Do you wrongly remember of another demo? I don't remember to have these effects in this one..

About "Also, why WOULDN'T Greece be able to make such a demo? It's not really based on country or anything"

I trully beleive this. At least it works well on myself. No matter if there is a scene or not in Greece, I will continue trying beeing active. I can say I am much more connected (strongly) with the scene all over the world, rather then with the small greek scene in my homeplace. I wished to continue even if there wasn't any greek scene at all, knowing that some people outside Greece will enjoy my creation (And in fact,. when I learned about the demoscene, the greek scene was already dead. I had to catch up with people from all over the world, regardless if they were far away from my place. Our passion for demos connected me with all people..)

At least I am more connected with all the demoscene globally rather than a small part of it. Perhaps other greek sceners loose their mood to produce something if their small inner scene stops producing,. I beleive this doesn't happen with me..

As for nationalism. I don't think that my greek scene friends are so nationalistic, because I know them a bit, I could only call this exagerated enthousiasm or something..
It seems like nationalism, but I don't think it's that much of that..

No, plasmas and rotozoomers where not in this demo, but they were in most of the "other" demos "made in greece" back then. That is what makes is revolutionary. Geddit ?
