Here's a YouTube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkMpH_w7yyI

Rather crappy quality since I don't have any video input on my PC, so I had to film it off the TV screen.

Also note that this demo does not run properly in ViceDTV!

Nice vectors & radial interference thingies.

Now all it needs is a proper colorscheme and proper design that would last throughout the demo :)

design? colorscheme? Bah!

I liked it, even though shadebobs aren't really my thing... At least they look nicer than on a plain 64 :)

nice but do consider better design next time :)

cool, but the video quality really sucks

Nice but the presentation is a bit simple.

Pretty nice but I felt the music was a bit disconnected to to the rest

Way to miss the point, magic. DTV != Amiga.

Cool

Interesting to see that the 1500 dots are not in 'dypp' but 'dxpp'. I thought th C64DTV graphic modes ( except maybe the 256c one ) were bitplane based like on Amiga and Atari.

Looked like an old AtariST or Amigademo but with C64Music. So let's wait for TBL to enter the platform for the next Breakpoint ;) The presentation was maybe not the fittest but this one made me up to do something in the near future, and that's something I never thought it would happen. I think I should afford some DTV...

Great show of the DTV. Several parts with nice effects this time and nice tune. I am still expecting more, way more from DTV. Way to go!
rulez added on the 2007-07-29 21:31:29 by Optimus Optimus
i found this demo very nice and polished, although i hate shadebobs and i dont like the dtv giving them a comeback ;) and i think it looks like an ok a500 demo with a good soundtrack
rulez added on the 2007-07-29 22:27:57 by hollowman hollowman

looks pretty nice! Does the DTV have a faster CPU? Not all the effect look like they can be done with advanced gfx modes.

music was so so..

The download link now points to the 101% version. Note that the youtube video is still of the old party version, but since the latest version of ViceDTV (http://picobay.com/dtv_wiki/index.php?title=DTV_Support_in_VICE) now runs the demo perfectly, there's no reason to settle for the crappy video anymore, even if you down't own a DTV.

Notes on the 101% version:
The original party version had 1500 dots in the dot-part. However when going through the code to help the ViceDTV team figure out what needed to be implemented to get it running, I spotted a VERY stupid mistake in the dot-routine, where most of it wasn't properly 4-byte aligned (which is necessary in burst/skip mode on the DTV for best speed). So I fixed this in the 101% version, which now features 2000 dots... Also the note which was a quick hack has been cleaned up a bit and looks a bit nicer.

Congrats Shadow !
Very cool DTV demo, nice design, nice effects (especially the redish interferences and the flatshaded polygon), good use of the DTV capabilities.... Damn, TRSi has to do better now ;-)

Nice, but rather simple/boring fx. The interference dragged it over the thumb up level though.

The effects are not that special but they look nice. Specially the lightsourced vector looks very neat. I also like the music so here's your thumb. :)

this looks nice

btw that tune is obviously ripped from a trance record (which i used to own a long time ago)
added on the 2008-01-24 16:39:26 by superplek superplek
(oh and it seems someone in turn ripped that from a c64 composer so this is where my point starts to get moot)

Good work Shadow, once again. You make me think of a certain Ultra, capable of producing cool stuff on a number of platforms that goes beyond me :D
