you know cerror .. there is this music this type of music which is often associated with breaking and robots.. its more electronic and robotic variant of hip hop music. you know i was expecting to hear something like that but then there was some shitty music so i can't give thumb up

A bit too repetitive for it's own good, but worth a thumb nonetheless.

text ringer!

maybe a tad too noisy but still pretty cool

i think the rendering removed a lot of potential this had. fun to watch, but the color/text choices were rather sad.

Extremely boring and ugly. Very boring music as well.

Obviously, heavily inspired by the latest fairlight intro. Also libcaca makes everything looks like shit

cool music, good synch, but the visuals were so ugly! guys, this is not what textmode is about. i really would have preferred an ansi slideshow over this.

I really liked the style, but I thought the text renderer wasn't quite right for the demo.

Cool, but most of the time it just feels like an OpenGL/D3D demo projected onto a charscreen. Where's the cool ANSI graphics in the textmode demos?

Looks and feels like a tribute to fairlight. So job done. Nice idea, cute model. I liked it.

Mmm.. wild thing, cool sync, sometimes boring and ugly, sometimes I don't get it, but overally not my favorite demo from this TMDC, however it has style and I overally liked it a bit, so it still gets a thumb up.

The rendering felt messy and this is not my favourite from this party.
But the style fits the music and it is a thumb up.

Love this one so much. I've watched it loads of times over the last few years.

The layers of grime over the audio and the renderer sit so well together and work perfectly in the textmode medium. It's like you said, hey, 80x50 is going to be dirty, let's make it FILTHY.

It's kind of an aspirational prod for me... and seeing it on the Demosplash stream got me thinking about textmode again (after an aborted prod I never got finished for TMDC last year).

Signal to Droids is also my go-to prod for people who have never heard of the scene and want to see something. A lot of people just can't grasp Elevated at first because it takes a while for the difference between 100s of megs of video and 4 kilobytes to sink in. Show them a textmode prod, they instantly get it. Hey, it's a PROGRAM doing that! And it looks so cool and stuff!

Mad respect and love Northern Dragons.
added on the 2012-10-15 02:22:23 by Fell Fell
Oop; it wasn't on the Demosplash stream at all. But me campaigning for it to be is what reminded me :D

Liked it and the droid, and the work and attention to detail made it cool.

Yes, mind the signal to droids ratio! ;)
