This is Vulture's demo, it only uses bits of my code :) Just to set the credits straight.

I like the music but the effects are too dark and quite slow.

I can't really get into the right text mood, but a thumb for the killer music.

thumb for the excellent tune (though it could have been mixed a big better)

great music and very good flow.
rulez added on the 2007-01-07 17:42:32 by Gargaj Gargaj
ok
The music sounds so compressed because it was originally over 4 megabytes and the retarded size limitations of the competition forced us to make it sound like that. When I get back home, I can upload a proper version.

average tune.
fantastic atmosphere in the end part.

It could have been very nice. Unfortunately it isn't. For the reasons look what Hitchhikr wrote.

i bet it was good planned, but the overuse of letters instead of blocks makes it look like floating chunks of datacrap at some point. guys, there's is so much more what textmode could do! drop that crappy standard-lib and make your own which uses the whole power of blocks! like, there are those shaded and half-shaded ansi-blocks in dos, why they don't get used anymore... and thos horizontal and vertical half-blocks... watch some _good_ mid-90s ansipacks and see what textmode is really capable of graphically.
added on the 2007-01-07 23:30:32 by dipswitch dipswitch
retarded size limitations are killing the textmode scene! it should be 64mb to fit those flac music tracks and ascii hdri images...
rulez added on the 2007-01-07 23:48:02 by bhead bhead
Now can we have a version without textmode?

Have to agree that TMDC compo rules are fucking retarded.

There is obviously some nice effect code here, but the rendering is ugly and the design just doesn't flow well. Sorry.

scene from screenshot is the best. rest is okish and music is not my cup of tea. piggie.
Quite OK, but the effects are a bit too detailed for the tiny resolution text mode forces one to render in. Also, what's the deal with the checkerboard overlay?

I think this was last bits of Traction stuff Vulture did before starting his career in professional bodybuilding (no joke).
