It reminded me a little of 100% Prophets video demos, which is no bad thing, but the effects look a little under developed and had no real impact or modern day spin on them.

It doesn't look code code pr0n, but this demo is just so full of stylism! I think the groups behind most demos are afraid to embrace the oldschool style. Either it's totally oldschool style, or nustyle.

uhm, brainstorm guys, you might have forgotten it over the years, but the @BEGIN_FILE_ID.DIZ stuff is only for textiles which got uploaded in a bbs. for a file_id.diz in archives you don't need it!

Some 3d were boring but the 2d and other old 3d stuff were cool (esp that whirlwind with quads and the dot and flower tunnels). I quite enjoyed it!

Not quite oldschool, not quite newschool, and it's definitely not 'kings of the playground'. But other than reading out the credits, I liked it a lot (especially, for some reason, the dots tunnel- maybe because there was a scene outside the tunnel for perspective/direction)

Probably because your intros became the canonical references for anything looking more or less oldschool on pc, which is a great achievement, imho. ;)
Cool tune and nice gfx, but like Shadez said the effects were just way too simple and "empty". Not bad but I expected much more from such skilled people. Can't see any kind of a school there either, next time at least have a 3D blackboard or something. :)

too shiny, too fast, too high reso for making me remember any oldschool demo or feeling... the 'per face phong' was ugly, less would have been more here.
i enjoyed it, but trace made some good points in his comments about 1995 and while i disagreed to some extent that they applied to 1995 i think they do apply more here. great work but it'd be better to apply to attempting to do something that hasn't been done before.

the dot tunel and the likes feel quite stupid in a sky box as does the "flat shaded-still-phong-torus" stuff. when I dont feel a machine is not sweating at all when doing a stunt its quite a let down to me, like at this one... I liked the colors and the gfx tho.

It's a fine line between boring/ugly oldschool wankery and a fresh modern interpretation of traditional demo style. This one stays on the safe side of it :). Liked the music although I felt it was a bit overproduced.

Ah, I'd already forgotten about this one. The first and last time when I touched badschool. Not my finest hour by far, but it was fun to make something like this and it started my long career with Brainstorm. We'd been e-mailing with Axel and when he kickstarted Brainstorm again, I was brought on board. I wrote this from scratch because of that and didn't use any of the Traction base code. The newer Traction & Brainstorm "coop" productions used the Traction engine by Vulture until I finally wrote my own that I've been using since.
And for the record, I was totally against the vocal samples in the credits part ;)
