scimitar, maybe do something with better textures than checkerboards first?

this is getting REALLY annoying. we don't owe you ANYTHING, you know?

I like the "high-res" looks of this intro!
Finally a FR intro since a long time
i really really really like! Got my thump.

Rather hit and missed and a bit stuck together in hurry look. Some scenes are quite nice whilst some others a terrible. Music is quite nice though.

a disappointment for me. Especially after watching conspiracy , fairlight and kewlers.
I hope stronger intros will come from farbrausch in the future.

Typical boring Visualize demotool intro, same boring effects using shaders.

Enjoyed it and it ran smoothly even in my crappy pc. But when in the same compo with the raw power of chaos theory.. Not a change (imo).

Thumb up for sure.

some of the 3d doesnt look nice at all. apart from the logos and the island scene i thought it looked quite bad actually.. sorry.

_great_ soundtrack though, which deserves the thumb alone.

To address some issues: The biggest downfall of this production is the fact that it lacks a concept of somekind. So, I am aware of that. :)
About it looking rushed... well, for me it ain't cos I simply ran out of ideas of what to do to make it better etc... But I see what you mean.
But thank you all for the feedback and I at least had serious fun doing this - huge thanks to everyone who was involved! ;)
added on the 2006-08-07 13:40:46 by Visualice Visualice
Great stuff.. That island looks like a painting somehow.. My favourites in this is the intro with the sun pendulum and the island part. Make the rest in that style, and this would be perfect. I've been missing the visualice style for some time now :)
rulez added on the 2006-08-07 13:50:04 by loaderror loaderror
Not overwhelming, but neat (the island scene in particular).

rulez added on the 2006-08-07 16:42:03 by sunnm sunnm
Some really good looking scenes, but imo lacks in the design-department. And the music's sounds like your average scene-idm to me. Still worth a thumb that goes this way and not the other.
rulez added on the 2006-08-07 18:59:13 by teel teel
I put a comment somewhere about how this reminds me, for some bizzarre reason, of driving on the UK highway system. I do NOT know why. And, it's not an unpleasant experience, that of me driving on the UK highway system.
Nice hires scenes and the music is outstanding!

surely a high quality production. but failed to impress compared to the other entries.

Really nice soundtrack ruined by bad and inconsistent visuals. Looks like it's been done by a coder trying to use Werkzeug, sorry :)

Looking forward to watch the next solid FR production.
added on the 2006-08-08 02:16:24 by keops keops
I'm just going to be harsh and blurt that this is typical FR output for Visualize. Somebody give the man a tool that suits his angle, we've seen this before.

I second keops here, one can tell that Visu's artistic freedom is seriously affected by the generative tools. Still, really nice mood, but not enough for my thumb.

the "wind"-effect is cool, but some scenes look empty and sloppy. I save my thumb for a final :)
added on the 2006-08-10 01:49:52 by Kauto Kauto
It's pretty nice, but also kinda boring. And it doesn't live up to the standard I connect with the label "Farbrausch"...
Doh: Dislikes? How? (I've got the same videocard and only disliking it gives me is slower fps at some parts)
atm I am still considering whether to do a final or not... we'll see :)

Come on, not thumbing this up because there are a few better 64ks around?

It's beautiful and it has great audio in only 64k. No reason not to thumb it up.

My personal favourite from the intro compo. Runs smooth on every part, has a lot of details that could not be seen on during the compo. Fabulous textures and 3d models. Good music, too.

A visual masterpiece! Every scene is a work of art! I'm amazed and even more amazed that this is a 64k intro!!

However, the music did my head in. It's too tinny and shrill! It was annoying me like a baby crying or nails down a chalkboard and ruined the experience.

But I'm still gonna thumb up for the visuals!

well... if i knew you did your best and ended up with this, i would probably be much nicer with you, but this seems like a very weak effort from the names involved. boring, static, and not particulary good looking scenes and the worst sounding v2 track i've ever heard makes this hard to enjoy. i love you guys, but you can easily do way better than this

Better than its last productions. A bit short. I like its music.
rulez added on the 2006-08-20 18:42:10 by humphr3y humphr3y
I really dislike the music - it lacks melody. There are a few pretty scenes, but most of them seem to lack "softness". One of the first scenes, if not the first (the astronomy) has this really 4k-ish "head" that looks quite bad too.
Technically it's great, but the rest of it is a bit lacking.
I can clearly see... sorry, listen melwyn's touch here ;)
Anyway, the graphics (rendering) wasn't as good as usual... have to see on an nvidia too.

what, is this really a visualice prod? doesn't really look like him at all. i find this a strange and unsatisfying production.

on a general note, i reserve my right to thumb down farbrausch prods. they get lots of up-thumbs, so why not balance it a bit.

on the other hand, why punish artists? telling them that you're not very impressed this time is clearly sufficient feedback for them to improve.

so i'll leave it at that and rather spend my time watching some more demos.
