cool
very cool idea...true scene spirit
cool idea!!
was cute
I've already seen such stuff at the saturne party 1 in 1993 between 2 amigas linked via the serial port, t'was a demo featuring 3d objects passing from one screen to another.
old idea and rather poor made.
I've wanted to do something like this for years. Massive kudos for actually getting off your ass and doing it... and doing a damn fine job of it too.
Kickass, the concept could've been exploited better, but..
Not that "new", but was quite enjoyable at the compo
Make the intro shorter and w/o Mario and it would've been a real kickass
well done.
i've been thinking about doing something like this myself.
the demo itself could've been better.
the demo itself could've been better.
i dont see whats so impressive about the concept, it's an idea that's pretty much been done before, which leaves us with a pretty average demo.
Nice one. done before but still a thumb up.
impressive work guys!
there were some neat parts on it
Original or not, it's still well done :)
We talked about doing this at the first Acc demodiv meeting. Thumb for actually, ya know, gettin' 'er done...
thumb up for the work
ok, i don't put the thumb down because of the technically impressive work... but it's not a demo, it's the video of a demo... i feel frustrated !
Yes I remember - quite a nice idea! I liked it! Thumb up!
nice
Nice work :))
Yeah, I like this one :)

Would you mind giving out some more technical details about this production? Is it a single application that is somehow distributed over a network of PCs? In any case, the idea is pretty cool but the demo itself could have been better.
No, I don't mind at all :) Of course, the demo could have been better, but the artwork was just a one-week-quick-hack to show off the distribution just before Breakpoint. I would like to make a better one, if time permits :)
Basically, there is one PC per screen (well, actually two of the PC's are rendering on two screens each, because we did not had enough powerful PC's). These PC's are executing the same binary, but they have different configuration files each, which define which part of the big image to render. Simply speaking, each PC is rendering the same with just a different viewport setting. Additionally, there is a master which takes care about synchronization and is used to have easy control over start/stop etc. The clients are reporting to the master, which frame is currently rendered. If one is too slow, the master will detect this and tell the client to start dropping frames to get back on track.
I hope, this answers some questions, otherwise, just ask.

What I forgot: You can see this synchronization taking place when carefully watching the top left screen. After this red tree-like structure it is out of sync and it takes some time until it gets back. To reduce network traffic and avoid a bottleneck here, the clients only talk once per second to the master.
Cool :)
:D
Well-deserved thumb up, guys. :)
This is a great Guide =D
nice project
Cool idea, not very impressive visuals.
Actually this was much better than I remembered.
nice.
Forgot thumb
distributed demo!
I couldn't forget this one. Great demo and fun assembly intro too.
Nice demo on those 9 pc screens.
cool
