- wow, surprisingly one more-or-less good dnb music (the euro-techno one is really disturbing though).
- the woman pic is pretty pointless (like most of scene gfx actually, so its okay=), and the black hugi logo is really misfitted. the interface is slightly better than the average hugi layout though.
content:
- the preface was pain in the ass to read, really. adok, even if you want to seem "serious", NO sane and intelligent person would write like that.
- it's pretty cheap to do an iraq feature by just writing down the content and the interviews from a tv report. the "flashback" story of an iraqi student is interesting though!
- poetry... hmm.. nothing really impressive. while one would expect something more avantgardistic from an alternative subculture like the scene, hugi once more proves its status as a fortress of aesthetical reaction. while the first two poems are pretty unimaginative, but still okay from a formalistic standpoint, the 3rd poem is really badly written and a cheap try to combine diffuse political propaganda with bad rhymes. the two poems by piccolo are funny in some sort of way, but i wonder if this is a intended regress to childlike-style and -topic, or the authors normal mental world... hapless tries in both ways though.
- i haven't had the patience to go thorugh all the prosa, to be honest, so i won't say anything about it, except for "die russenbraut", which was not only totally hapless from a literary standpoint, but also full of clichées and really offensive towards any sane russian. (eyes yes, i know, russian soldiers used to rape civilian women while ww2, but i really wonder how the author managed to pack so much anti-russian clichées in 1/2 page of text...)

okay, now i've read a bit more of the prosa and i even more feel that i thumbed it down for good. even infront of nowadays' literature-crisis, with most literature bringing forth nothing refreshing, these pathetic pieces seem dull and helpless.
The title sound really gay! (What ever it tries to say anywayz).. even the chick in the titlepicture cannot mitigate that. I will give my verdict after skimming through the articles.
ok... WTF?? Why is this on pouet? Wrapping a demoscene-esque interface around a bunch of articles written by layman authors does not make it a production that is relevant to the scene.
I will refrain from thumbing this down as adok apparently lured a few innocents into wasting their time on this. But I wonder whether there isn't a better place and a better way to publish this..

I don't get the point of doing a whole diskmag in something else than english ( aka a language we all share ).
Using local languages in a demo/intro is one thing, but "demo poetry" is generally just worth being pasted on IRC or on a oneliner.

i think it's not even the point that the stuff in non-scenerelated (actually like 50% of nowadays "scene" stuff is pretty dubious hehe) but that the content is very very mediocre at its best.

sorry adok, usually i'm still interested in hugi (maybe that's why i downloaded hugi.ger4), but this thing plainly just sucks...

ok, i respect the effort adok puts into his mags, but, i mean ARGH, the total lack of a sense for style is just unbelievable for someone who's been involved for that long... Those poems, esp. those 2 kindergarden-rhymings, oh my goodness! I can't imagine what drove people to release something this embarassing to such a wide audience(okay, well, german audience). However I liked the citation articles, maybe because someone else(and pro-skilled) wrote most of them. The fact that there is nothing scene-related in this release on pouet -- an extra minus.

der provokant pinke titel weckt erwartungen ein oeffentliches coming out des "koenigs" im inneren zu finden und sorgt sicher fuer vermehrtes interesse/downloads. die entaeuschung nichts zu finden ist zwar da, erweckt aber neue hoffnung in spaeteren ausgaben bedient zu werden.
also ein cleverer schachzug!
vom desingstandpunkt her wird ebenfalls eine klare linie geboten. das gewohnte optische hugi niveau wird konsequent in allen belangen durchgezogen und der eher unwichtige rest (sprich artikel,musi) passt sich dem c.design folgend dem selben level an.
also ein bis ins letzte ausgefeiltes hugi das meine erwartungen nicht enttaeuscht hat...

Ich geb´s ja gern zu, Einiges an diesem Magazin gefällt mir nicht so recht. Aber die nächste Ausgabe wird noch viel besser werden. Also nicht verzagen, lieber Hagen und Hugi im Februar wieder fragen. :-)
Da die Wertung von einigen inkompetenten Lesern absichtlich in den Keller geschaufelt wurde, gibt es hier von mir (einmalig) einen Daumen hoch, denn so schlecht ist das Magazin ja wirklich nicht. Wer des Lesens mächtig ist und sich wirklich mal die Mühe macht, vorurteilslos zu lesen, wird das bald bemerken.
So, nun wünsche ich Euch noch allen eine schöne Adventszeit. (Bitte alle Kerzen vor dem Schlafengehen löschen :-)

My 9 comments (was that nine?) sind nicht alle in 15 Minuten entstanden. Es waren einige
Kopfstände nötig, die Texte hier unterzukriegen.
Dass Du Anfang und Ende nicht auseinanderhalten konntest, liegt nicht an mir, sondern an
pout. Ich hatte die Texte schön formatiert, aber pouet klamüsert sie wieder auseinander.
Aber es kann auch sein, dass Du nicht richtig lesen kannst.

Deutsch ist im Allgemeinen sehr schwer zu übersetzen. Noch dazu, wenn Hobby-Autoren etwas
