Featuring Obarski's "mod.hymn to yezz". This was definitely done in 1988, but what I don't understand is that, as you see, it is written 1998 in the demo itself.

Maybe it's set in the future, with the big spaceship an' stuff...?
Indeed, most likely.
Oh, isn't Hymn To Yezz by Frog/D.O.C. and not Obarski...?
I can not see this demo but the screenshot seems that this demo is exactly like THE DEMO menu by the LOGON SYSTEM on CPC in 1992.. Strange thing !
TMR: as far as I remember it is indeed done by Obarski (this song was on the first Soundtracker disk along with Obarski's other classics). Furthermore ADSRM gives credit to Obarski as well. Finally, in The Light Circle's "Powertrax" musicdisk (march 1988) they give credit to Karsten Obarski.
Yup, just checked the demo itself on my A1200 and Frog is only greeted and not credited... Have to talk to the HVSC team about changing the entry for my C64 cover then! =-)
a classic
Don't believe anything what's written down in demos. ;-)
Since it was stylish, to date productions in the 'far future', to show, how much in advance they are.
Some groups did so.

Amazing piece of the space-ship era!
"1998"
It wasn't dating the productions, these date has been part of the handle.
This characteristic finds it's roots in C64 scene from the early eighties.
But 1998 in general was from E.C.A. 1998 ;)
To quote some examples:
Line 2002
AEK Crackware Essen 2099
Alpha Flight 1970
Detonator 4001
Dueco 2002
Radwar Enterprises 1941
Syntax 2001
Wizax 2004
Hotline 9009
Our C64 name was:
Plutonium Crackers 2001.
Later on Amiga:
AnTiTraX 2010
From Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey"
and: "2010: Odyssey Two"
This way most sceners choose their "year dates".
It had a touch of furure, but we all had only 8-bit machines. :)

I remember it well. Not my favourite D.O.C demo but still very cool. And the tune rocks. :)
What StingRay said :)
Rulez!
Bow down to the masters.
Yesssss! ST-01 rules still.
Hmm, maybe someone should organize a scrolling spaceship "effect" -themed Amiga demo compo at a modern party :)
This classic has now received the WHDLoad treatment as well.
Nice concept.
