- the problem is that there is an imbalance of power between the sides who are affected and the ones who control the services; it's not hard to feel desperate when something affects you negatively and there's nothing you can do about it
- noone said it's new - although i'd argue the extent, breadth and disparity of it is unprecedented - but that it exists and it has severe effects.
- the imbalance of power manifests in the technology being shoehorned into everything without attention paid to any of the concerns, whether that be moral, legal or ecological. that's the problem - society has been turned into a giant alpha test.
- criticising an imperfect messenger is one thing, but it shouldnt allow you to lose sight of the actual problem
